Skinner filed.
Wake responded and 12(b)(6)'d him.
Briefs in support and opposition.
Skinner sought Rule 11 sanctions because WFU was mean to him.
Skinner failed to show, all claims against all defendants dismissed on the briefs. Per the judgment, Wake free to seek Rule 11 sanctions should Skinner keep filing nonsensical suits.

Not 100% necessary. There is a shuttle that goes from some of the major apartment complexes to campus and from campus to certain places. I personally cannot imagine living here without a car. There is no efficient public transportation besides what Wake has. The city is relatively spread out, but if you live close enough to school you can find most necessities within a couple miles. I know several people that do not use their cars to get to and from school, because they take the shuttles. However, I don't know anyone who doesn't have a car at all here.

Also, if you don't mind, how are you liking Wake Forest? Are you happy with your decision? How is the library there, and where is the best place to study? Is it easy to make friends there? How is the faculty?

Winston is pretty bad as far as property crime goes.

It's pretty safe around campus. Mainly undergrads getting into trouble. Rarely assaults, sometimes B&E.

Best place in Winston to live is downtown. There are more expensive/fancier places next to campus if you want to be close.

I like Wake and don't regret my decision. The library is a library. Carrels for studying. Books that nobody uses. Studying is up to you. Some folks prefer library, others home. Friends depends on you, but if you want to make some it shouldn't be difficult. There are lots of social/networking events. Like any school, WFU has some bad professors (for the most part smart folks that just aren't good teachers). We also have some pretty incredible ones.

Jobs are about you, not exclusively about your school. Wake is respected enough that a lot of doors are open to you. You could end up doing biglaw. You could also end up tending bar. Wake, like every other school near it in rankings has that issue. If you're willing to work at your career, you have a good shot. If you think going to class and graduating is enough to get you a job that pays more than minimum wage, you're in for a rude awakening.

Some 3Ls have job offers. Others are hopeful. Other won't ever practice, I don't think. Wake is as good or better than similarly ranked schools from what I've seen on LST.

How is Winston-Salem? I'm from a decently large international city abroad and although W-S sounds quaint, it sounds quite small...

Man, that class of 2016 class size is huge. 179 as opposed to class of 2015's size of 125. That is an increase of 43%. I am still deciding and liking Wake, but that has got to hurt employment chances with more people competing for jobs. I wonder what their target number is this year? Anyone know?

If you're from the sticks WS is huge. If you're from a "decently large international city abroad" it will probably feel like you're in Podunk, NC. I like it.

The temperature in the building is never right.

I don't think it's particularly cutthroat. I've always found my classmates to be helpful. No stories about folks ripping pages out of casebooks or anything like that.

No, they don't stack. Do WFU scholarships even have stips on them? For a couple of years they didn't...

I am currently a 2L at Wake. I'll try to address some of the questions that have been posed recently.

There are TONS of housing options near campus. The Crownes are especially popular. There are also a lot of houses for rent within walking distance to school (off Polo Rd.) that are well priced. Downtown is great to live. Personally, I don't live downtown because I am one of those people that likes to sleep until 10 minutes until class and then run out the door. But downtown is like a mini urban area - restaurants, bars, etc.

As far as safety, I have never felt unsafe on campus, even late at night. There is relatively little crime, but it seems like the undergrads do like to get in trouble sometimes (theft and whatnot). I am a single female living alone and I'm fine. As long as you're smart, you should be okay.

Professors at Wake are great! There are one or two that just don't know how to teach, but overall professors are dedicated and helpful. My peers have been nothing but helpful and supportive. I've made great friends and it feels like a cooperative environment rather than a competitive one.

There are no stipulations on scholarships other than good academic standing (you can't fail, basically).

Wake is trying for a smaller class size this year, last year's class (℅ 2016) is super big. The good news is, I believe they are doing some remodeling and expanding to use the entire building this summer.

I hope to see some of you at ASDs - I'll be a tour guide for most of them

The city itself is pretty spread out, so I don't know how bike friendly it is as far as using it as transportation (rather than just enjoyment). For instance, I would not bike from school to downtown. Too far, and too much traffic. But many people bike from their house to school with no problem. There are lots of places to bike if you just want to do it for fun.

For a 2 bedroom, you could pay anywhere from $600 to $1000 a month, depending on where you live and the condition of the place. The Crownes charge about $850-$900 for a 2 bed.

Was wondering about the car situation myself. Any idea if there is a website or something that details the shuttle schedule? Does it run to the grocery store and such? I've lived in a major city the past 5 years and had no need for a car/don't want to buy one now...

As for the food situation... are there any decent restaurants specializing in ethnic food, etc.? A quick google search tells me they exist, but wondering about personal experiences?

Seems like the top 10% have a decent shot at biglaw (based on the new NLJ250 info). What do most people say they want to do after graduation - public interest, government, clerk, boutique firms, etc? Are professors helpful in providing career advice?
