Don't listen to bankers and their hours... not saying that you can or should go ahead and become an IBD analyst (or that his hours aren't worse).

But since you're new to this sub-culture, many IBD analysts essentially sit around all day and then work the graveyard shift and call it a 100+ hour week, whereas a junior/midlevel/senior biglaw associate may do the same and it would be a 50 hour week (e.g., commuting, lunch, dinner, time between tasks, breaks etc. don't count when you're counting in 6 minute increments).
