Absolutely. For all those 0L guys out there, the front steps of the law school in Bloomington in the springtime is a fantastic place to be.

Mid-20's is mid-20's. Not much difference took place here.

Yeah, it was more fun to say "I go to a top 25 school," but I think that's all that really got lost here. Here's to having the ability to honestly say that again in a year.

Some people are too caught up in thinking that top 25 means something really. In the end nothing really changed.

And finally, you can look at the raw scores and see where the real distinctions are. (Hint: not somewhere in the mid-20s). On top of all that, saying I go to a T25 law school only tells people that you go to a school ranked between 21 and 25.

Williams final has a one hour period where we are supposed to outline the answer and not type! thats pretty intense, I thought I outlined too much, but I never used 1/4 of the exam time

Oh, he does. The email isn't too funny. He just said that they will NOT be contacting all of our interviewees. There was a rumor otherwise this morning.

As to the prior poster, the schedule is hellish. 2nd semester is much improved, because it is pretty much like losing two classes with LP. Still a good amount of work, but it is a WHOLE lot more manageable. Or I've just gotten used to it. I certainly have put in less hours and feel in a much better position in all my classes than I did last semester.

I think 1st semester is a little bit of a weeder course. Not sure if there was a final tally, but I think we had around 5 drop outs.

Sure. I had civil procedure starting at 9, a 45 minute break then criminal law at 11, an hour break then contracts at 1, then no break going into criminal procedure. I would usually get out around 3:30 ish.

That's M-W. Th-F I only had legal research and writing. LRW usually gives you homework and papers and a bunch of other stuff you don't have much time for because you are trying to get reading done for your 4 graded classes. It's especially a pain because you have Thanksgiving break, then your final memo is due, then you have like... a week of class in order to get 4 outlines done in time for finals.

I don't even want to estimate the amount of time spent studying, because it will probably just be depressing. Summer semester taught me that weekends are pretty necessary. Later in fall semester taught me I need to stay till till 8 or 9. I would certainly call it "hellish".

WHile 2nd semester is definitely less work, there are some added things to make up for the lack of 3 units. First I know a lot of people are still looking for summer employment, and its a huge stress. Also legal professions has a lot of dumb busy work, like this paper and interviews and group projects. Also the first 2-4 weeks there is the insane waiting for grades stress. Lastly, this is just my opinion, but Con law and property are the two most substantive classes of first year.

So I definitely worked less this semester, some of that I think was just me knowing what works and how I am most efficient.

As far as stress of first semester, I know for me a lot was the fear of the unknown. I dont know if summer starters had this same feeling since they had the torts exam already, but not knowing if you are a good exam taker is pretty scary. I don't think I was comfortable in law school till the first week of december, when suddenly I realized i knew the law backwards and forwards and a lot of people hadn't even started outlining yet.

I think First semester is tough because of the unknown, I probably did way too much pointless work first semester because I wasn't sure what the hell was going on.

And as far as time spent studying I have found I am a bit of an anomaly but I work a lot on the weekends. I have friends that refuse to open books saturday and sunday, but i have found that weekends are the best time for me to really focus on material.

One of the reasons 60-70 hour weeks in big law don't scare me I definitely put in more then that most of first semester, and a lot of this semester.

Gotta agree on conlaw and property being more difficult. But I'm really not sure if that's because it is actually more difficult, or if I just have the time to realize I don't completely understand it. A lot less stress though. First semester was like an unbearable marathon.

I'm a fully imaginary person, but perhaps I've said too much.
