If we lived in Communist China, that girl would have been dragged out behind the law school library and beaten to death. Calling me less than pleased with her is a severe understatement.

Depends on the schedule and what you're looking for... Tanford offers Evidence online, which is great for us slackers. Conrad classes are fun, if you don't mind his eccentricities. Oh, and I really enjoyed Meitus's Entertainment law. Meitus is a really cool guy - he'll have you over to his house in the woods for beers.kings84_wr wrote:Danquayle do you have any 2l class recommendations?

Re: Indiana University - Bloomington 1L's taking questions
As per my usual policy of posting on random topics once every couple of weeks:

Finally, to those that came out to Nick's and Hoosier Knights on SLD: It was great to meet everyone.
To those of you that didn't make it: It looks like next year's is going to be an awesome 1L class. Yet another reason to make the right choice and come to Indiana.
Was Shreve trying to dissuade you? I wouldn’t be surprised, the guy has donated a TON of money back to the school. He obviously loves it here. I don’t know if there’s truth to it, but rumor has it he donates his entire salary back to the school.kings84_wr wrote:haha yeah, I have to admit asking for LOR's was kinda awkward, I talked to Shreve for about an hour about it, boshkoff on the other hand was ecstatic, I think he just likes visitors haha.
That’s too bad man. It was nice to meet/out you the other weekend. Have fun in Cali and best of luck.Veritas wrote:thanks for all your help 1Ls and older students/grads. I really appreciated all your input! I've decided to stay in CA but wish you the best of luck.

Shreve and I basically had an hour or two talk about the pro's and con's of transferring. I think he understood that if I could get into berkeley It would help me in CA more then IU. That guys office is insane though, Sitting on fenway park seats was pretty sweet.

Wow, hours with Shreve. Impressive. I thought you were a Ghey type of student? (If you don't know how to pronounce his name, this could sound wrong. I thought kings was in our other civpro class)kings84_wr wrote:Shreve and I basically had an hour or two talk about the pro's and con's of transferring. As a side note, Berkley? Aren't you concerned about accidentally touching a hippy? Hmm... I guess CA would only have USC, UCLA, and Berkley as better schools.

Oh yeah, I completely ignored Stanford. They don't take many transfer students though. I think it was under a dozen last year.Bankhead wrote:I think Stanford might be a bit better...Spoonmanners wrote:Wow, hours with Shreve. Impressive. I thought you were a Ghey type of student? Edit: EXACTLY a dozen. Wowza. It is extremely transfer un-friendly.

I thought the e-mail was fine. The tone wasn't forceful. They've had problems in this area before. Fromm is a good guy.

I guess today is a day for making much ado about nothing. First the ATL post and now this:
------------------
Quote from Facebook:
[Name redacted] is gunning for the fucker who whined to ATL, and the one who posted the link to the whining on top-law-schools (http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... start=1075). Let's make sure as many people as possible see ATL's shit! Assholes!
------------------
I mean the e-mail wasn't that big of a deal, but seriously, was the article? Who cares? Apparently now someone is "gunning" for me. I'll have trouble sleeping tonight.
Memo to those that are promoting Bloomington on this website: Don't ever post anything that could even remotely be slightly embarrassing to the school (which, again, I don't think this really is).

Oh hey, don't the new rankings come out soon?
Anyone think we go up/down?
And wow, Butler got within 1. I can't watch.

I think someone said the rankings come out on the 15th.
My prediction is we end up in the 25-27 range, I think a few of those schools that dropped last year gutted their PT programs enough to move back up.

This thread, while quite entertaining, is probably the #1 reason why I didn't apply to IU-B, even with a fee waiver. No offense to y'all, just a vibe.

All of this seriously makes me wonder how many IU students are out there reading that don't actually post.

At least no Law students have shot up their books with an AK-47, we are making improvement . . . This is actually barely news worthy for ATL standards.

IUB has actually relatively little drama. That's why stuff like this makes waves. FWIW, I agree with Bankhead on the email from Dean Fromm. People had had issues obviously as he did have to talk to people prior to this.

Is what you perceive of the school, or your perception of the content of this thread?
I'm not trying to be confrontational, I'm honestly just interested.

Re: Indiana University - Bloomington 1L's taking questions
This is all kind of overblown, and I gotta agree with Bankhead. However, this is kind of a no win situation on the board, considering the tipster and one of the people who gave Fromm a legitimate reason to send the email are posters. Fromm is awesome, and I don’t like that he got put on blast for sending an email reminding people to use some common sense. I'd like to point out that the facebook post was made by a 22 year old girl, and I'm sure that Agent doesn't fear for his life.
As for rankings, I’m interested in where they go. Since last year we have had nothing but improvement. I would be surprised if USNews would be short sighted to jump us up what we did last year only to have us drop. That would make some weary of their rankings. I’ll be pretty happy just to stay the same, but with an increase in numbers, applications, and the nice scholarships have to help in that regard.
