It is one of the very few law school accomplishments that attorney's firm profile pages list, so I would assume there is some value...personofinterest wrote:How helpful is it career-wise to graduate cum laude? I think last year there were some cum laude that got coif. But yes that is rare and it probably was a 3.95 cum laude or something.

Hope is alive! Also looks like transfers are ineligible, which is sorta mean but guess I understand. Thanks for sharing...Micdiddy wrote:I think last year there were some cum laude that got coif. But yes that is rare and it probably was a 3.95 cum laude or something.

Last year, there wer some coif who didnt get magna and some magna who didnt get coif. Im guessing this has to do with the transfer thing?

There is a rule (coif's rule, not NU's) that 75% of your classes have to be taken on campus or for a letter grade or something like that. I forget what the exact rule is, but that's why transfers are excluded. It can potentially affect other, homegrown students in the top 10%...but doesn't tend to, IIRC.kcdc1 wrote:Last year, there wer some coif who didnt get magna and some magna who didnt get coif. Does anyone know when they typically release honors & deans list information, post-graduation?
Also when do we get diplomas? I assume they're mailed out following conferral on Friday?

Last year it was Thursday, July 2. So, a good guess would be somewhere between June 30 and July 6.itsme123 wrote:When does the Fall 2016 list of classes come out?

I wouldn't count on diplomas being mailed out that soon. I couldn't find anything specific to the law school, but the other NU schools seem to say they send them out 6-8 weeks after the degree is awarded.Calvin Murphy wrote:Does anyone know when they typically release honors & deans list information, post-graduation?

FWIW, Dean's List is viewable on caesar transcript, at least for me. I'd imagine the only thing that anyone is wondering about is cut-off for Coif tho. Given that it would take a full 3 seconds to run a script to calculate top 10%, I'd imagine it'll take at least another week to turn it around.cookiejar1 wrote:So we can expect this list to be posted on Tuesday? So this is really annoying. I know the list has gone out to professors a week ago, and when I went to the undergrad commencement last year the programs had honors printed in them for the law school. Which means a bunch of people in Evanston probably saw the list this morning before we did.
Like I just don't understand what goes on in the registrar.

Now the question is whether the registrar or someone's little bro will be first to post coif list.feralinfant wrote:So this is really annoying. What's the point of having both coif and magna!? From my count, there are all of 2 people who are not on both lists!onionz wrote:List is up too. https://www.law.northwestern.edu/regist ... s_list.pdf

tbf, having your name appear on some list at graduation with 100s of other laude cummers is literally the only value you get out of CUM LAUDE so you'd hope they'd get it rightDesert Fox wrote:how much are you nerds going to complain about not being RECOGNIZED FOR UR CUM LAUDE GENIOUS soon enough.feralinfant wrote:So this is really annoying.
