So I can log into Freshlaw and view the Admitted Students Days info, but I can't find out how to register. Is registration even required, or do you just show up?

Was wondering this too. I'm assuming there's going to be more information put out later, because the Freshlaw site doesn't say anything about how to sign up for the financial aid counseling sessions, or where any of the tours startPneumonia wrote:So I can log into Freshlaw and view the Admitted Students Days info, but I can't find out how to register. I'm headed over there later this week and I'll find out info for you guys.
I want to take a Segway tour. I think it would be fun to act like a tourist here!

I'd be down for a Segway tour as well. Last year some Austin residents took slight at the fact that the Segway tour was only available for visiting applicants, but they were then allowed to participate. Maybe this year it will just be open to everyone.Attax wrote:I'm headed over there later this week and I'll find out info for you guys.

They always look so funny, but they are fun. We did one with our local riding group and we wore all our racing leathers.
Oh, and I just sent an email guys. Will report back when I know.

Oh okay, I'm doing the March WUSTL ASW. That'd be kinda cool to see the same people at different ones.Attax wrote:I'm planning on WUSTL in April. Not registered yet thoughBentleyLittle wrote:Anyone going to WUSTL and UT ASWs?

Looks like orientation is August 21st-22nd, as well as the 25th. First day of classes is August 27th.
Can anyone confirm this? I found it under "Important Dates" but it doesn't have a year, or class of 201X next to it so I'm not entirely sure it's accurate.

Looks like they updated it on freshlaw:cannibal ox wrote:Looks like orientation is August 21st-22nd, as well as the 25th. First day of classes is August 27th.

"Once you accept admission to UT Law, you will be required to participate in our new student orientation, which will take place Aug. 21, 22 and 26. During orientation, you will have the opportunity to meet classmates, familiarize yourself with the school and learn what to expect as a 1L at UT Law."

I'm sure there will be an update/correction, but the "Important Dates" box on the Freshlaw page says 21st, 22nd and 25th, while the "Orientation" link says 21st, 22nd and 26th.Attax wrote:Looks like they updated it on freshlaw:cannibal ox wrote:Looks like orientation is August 21st-22nd, as well as the 25th. Got my acceptance call on Thursday! Giving Austin some serious thought but the scholarship amount will really make the decision for me.

I was on the fence about ASW, but there is no way I am turning down the chance to ride around Austin on a segway.

I've done it before. Me and some of my moto racing buddies threw on our leathers, helmets, etc. and took a segway tour. Hot as hell (it was summer), but tons of fun and laughs were had.Savage13 wrote:I was on the fence about ASW, but there is no way I am turning down the chance to ride around Austin on a segway.

I can't make either of the segway tours. I'll be there for everything after that and Friday.

Same here, although I may not do the 1.5-hour campus-wide walking tour after the Law School tour.Attax wrote:I can't make either of the segway tours. I'll be there for everything after that and Friday.

Yeah, I should add that I'll just be doing the Law School Tour. I don't need a campus-wide one. I doubt it would really be necessary for anyone unless they're wanting to know where good places to eat on campus are.ScottRiqui wrote:Same here, although I may not do the 1.5-hour campus-wide walking tour after the Law School tour.Attax wrote:I can't make either of the segway tours. Hint: They're all off campus.

Just out of curiosity, what does "priority" even mean in terms of filing your FAFSA?Attax wrote:FYI: FAFSA priority filing deadline is March 1st.

Not sure, I think it is the deadline by which you are guaranteed aid if you qualify. Afterwards you may not get any, regardless of if you qualify or not? This is speculation.cannibal ox wrote:Just out of curiosity, what does "priority" even mean in terms of filing your FAFSA?Attax wrote:FYI: FAFSA priority filing deadline is March 1st.

Can we fill out the FAFSA if we haven't actually decided whether or not we will be attending UT yet?Attax wrote:Not sure, I think it is the deadline by which you are guaranteed aid if you qualify. Re: Texas Class of 2017
You can put up to 10 schools on your FAFSA and they'll all receive it, so yes, put any school you're seriously considering.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
