It's slightly faster than their admissions process.vicpin5190 wrote:Is the Financial Aid office typically slow to respond to emails?

Re: Cornell Class of 2017
Posting on behalf of an awesome Cornell graduate student (studying financial economics) in need of a roommate for the upcoming year (starting late July/early August)
The two-bedroom apartment is located on West Seneca Street in downtown Ithaca. It is a brand NEW building next to Greenstar (local organic market) and near Wegmans and great restaurants. There are several bus stops to campus within a couple minutes' walking distance and a free parking lot in the back of the building. The apartment includes a balcony, dishwasher, stacked washing machine and dryer, large closets, and hardwood floors throughout. The apartment is also furnished. The rent is very reasonable for Ithaca at a total of 1200 plus electricity and internet; those costs would be split. The website with pictures is --LinkRemoved--.
PM me for more info if you're interested (as soon as possible).
By the way, I just graduated this year from the law school and can also answer questions in the meantime about Cornell law in general although my answers will come sporadically due to bar exam studying. Suffice to say though that I grew to love it more every year and wish I could do it all over again

He probably spends too much time on reddit.SteelPenguin wrote:Where did this come from?Sloth Hero wrote:place bets: how many incoming 1Ls will wear fedoras?
As an aside, I know of at least one 1L who does wear a fedora to events. Not to class, though.

So if you got the reference, you spend too much time on Reddit? Ah dammit.
This may be a stupid question, but does everyone need to submit the Dean's Certification form? I have not because I was led to believe I don't need to. I've read conflicting stuff about it though.

Anybody going to that alumni event at the end of July in NYC? What does black tie invited but optional mean? Do I need to wear a tux?

I would but I'm leaving for France three days earlier. Black tie optional means that tuxedos are suggested but not required. Since this isn't a high-stakes event for your future unless you black out and spill your bloody mary on a V10 equity partner's $2400 tuxedo, I wouldn't sweat it.

Don't wear black tie. Seriously people always underdress for these things.

yup. wear a suit and if you're overdressed take the jacket/tie off in the bathroom.redsoxfan1989 wrote:So a suit is TCR?toothbrush wrote:Don't wear black tie. Seriously people always underdress for these things.
but if you wear suit less jacket/tie you can't magically make one.
plus suit fits in fine w/ tux people. just be conservative.

It means if you have a tux, wear it, but don't go rent one for the occasion, because a suit is fine. You should all go if you are in the city. It's gonna be a fun event with lots of booze and lots of alums to talk to about life during/after Cornell Law (including yours truly).redsoxfan1989 wrote:Anybody going to that alumni event at the end of July in NYC?
