I haven't yet tried, but I am planning on it. I don't really see the downside.Shortterm12 wrote:Has anyone had success negotiating twice? I received my "revised offer" which did not really come close to the other offer I showed them. Duke would be a great place to be. Thanks!

Very true, I think I will later this week. Are you leaning towards Duke?lawschool22 wrote:I haven't yet tried, but I am planning on it. I am. It will depend on what NYU comes back with regarding my scholarship negotiation, but I think it's unlikely they will give me enough to swing me away from Duke. Barring any other surprise WL movement, I think I'll be in Durham this fall.Shortterm12 wrote:Very true, I think I will later this week. Anyone think I'll have luck negotiating after the deposit deadline on the 25th?

Has the OP been seen around this thread in a while? If not I might see if I can take over the helm. I'd like to get a poll going.

Summer starter -- I plan on subletting this summer from the google doc that was posted on the facebook page. Then, I'll probably end up at one of the places which they showed us at ASW (Pinnacle, Garrett West etc.)

Okay, judging by that post I'm going to go out on a limb and say that OP probably checked out of the Duke thread.barrelofmonkeys wrote:OP's last post was March 2nd and was around this:lawschool22 wrote:Has the OP been seen around this thread in a while? Voted Other, but Alexan Garrett or Pinnacle Ridge are still possibilities, too (assuming I choose Duke).

If I go the Other route, either Hawthorne at the View or a random, smaller facility/townhouse (e.g. something offered by Ticon Properties) for me.lawschool22 wrote:For those who are voting other, where are you considering?

Super bummed that a scholly renegotiation didnt work out for me. I never allowed myself to get too excited for Duke because I knew it would cost too much, this just confirms it
Approximately 2 week turnaround for committee review

Sorry to hear that ec.
How long did it take them to make a decision after you first contacted them?

Re: Duke Class of 2017
So I got my scholarship negotiation response. I sent in the e-mail at the very end of March so its been about a 2 week turnaround. They upped my offer by $9000 but I still don't think its enough to tip the scales in favor of Duke.

Just got my scholarship increased too. Not sure if it's enough to bring me to Duke but it's not a negligible increase either.

Same time for turnaround and increase for me. And yeah, don't think it's enough for me either.milkandcheerios wrote:So I got my scholarship negotiation response.
