Re: UPenn Class of 2017
I had a friend this happened to last year. For him, it was Dean Post. She made my call, and I'd imagine thats who it is for you too.Seoulless wrote:Hey guys - I got a call mid-last week from someone in admissions gauging my interest in coming off the waitlist and matriculating. I told her that I needed to think it over for a few days because it is such a big decision. The problem is that I was SO EXCITED that I forgot her name. Is there only one person at Penn making the phone calls? If so, who?

You should absolutely ask admissions. They connected me with about 15 people while I was making my decision, and they were all very candidSeoulless wrote: I am VERY, VERY interested. Does anyone know some current student "Penn Ambassadors?" I really want to reach out and get a candid perspective from current students but don't know anyone.

You can also reach out to the people that have posted articles on the Penn Law tumblr - they're all student ambassadors.

Re: UPenn Class of 2017
Hey everybody. Apologies for ducking in here. For anybody who is definitely attending Penn as a member of the class of 2017: I work for a startup that operates online case briefing and networking tools for law students. We're currently looking for a campus rep for the upcoming school year. The pay is good and the work is minimal. If you think you'd be interested in chatting with me about this, or talking with one of our current reps, shoot me a PM.

Re: UPenn Class of 2017
I am looking to live in a studio off-campus around 1200-1700 per month. I'd like it to be about a 5-10 min walk from the law school. Ideally, I'd want to be like a minute walk from the law school, but i don't know if there are apartment buildings that close. Does anyone have any recommendations or insight into this? Are there apartment complexes in the area that are common for law students? i know nothing about philly housing.. Thanks!

May 1st was deposit deadline. the only oneSeoulless wrote:Hey guys when were/are the deposit deadlines? I've been offered preliminary admissions - the kind of deal where you are accepted if you say you will go - and want to know how much time I reasonably have to sort some other things out. Penn is by far my top choice. If all the deposit deadlines have passed, then I am guessing they would want an answer ASAP from me.

I would just tell them what you need to sort out before you can accept. They've been super accommodating with me, and I imagine they would do the same for you.Seoulless wrote:Hey guys when were/are the deposit deadlines? Ya, and you have to like take the federal loan tutorial or whatever acknowledging that you understand what it means to take on copious amounts of unforgivable debtTrig wrote:All we had to do was FAFSA and a MPN, right?goldenboy514 wrote:Got the loan paperwork in the mail today....hurts

I'm a Morris Fellow for your class (a mentor for incoming 1Ls). Feel free to message me if you still have questions/need perspective.Seoulless wrote: I am VERY, VERY interested. Schedules/section info typically comes out the week before orientation. Your only job for the summer is to chill.AlwaysPlayTheFox wrote:Anyone have any clue when schedules/section info comes out??
