Re: Cornell Class of 2017
You don't need the NetID to download the health forms. I didn't get my NetID until June 26th last year, and I definitely mailed the forms before June 10th (although, again, that deadline isn't real). Just make an account with your e-mail address and use that.vicpin5190 wrote:When does the NetID go out? I got the initial email with info about the process and housing, but I haven't gotten anything in relation to my NetID and I kind of need that to get my health forms downloaded.

Getting to live in that beautiful law library for the next three years. More seriously, I'm most excited about going back to school. I'm hoping to make at least a few Cornell hockey games 1L year though.lemons wrote:what are you all the most excited about for the upcoming year? probably for me the gorges and having an actual fall/winter again![]()

Re: Cornell Class of 2017
Hey everybody. Apologies for ducking in here. For anybody who is definitely attending Cornell as a member of the class of 2017: I work for a startup that operates online case briefing and networking tools for law students. We're currently looking for a campus rep for the upcoming school year. The pay is good and the work is minimal. If you think you'd be interested in chatting with me about this, or talking with one of our current reps, shoot me a PM.

Tons of good trails in the area. My favorite is the old railroad tracks from the abandoned factory at the southern end of Cayuga street to buttermilk falls and then all the way up the falls to the lake.vicpin5190 wrote:lemons wrote:what are you all the most excited about for the upcoming year? probably for me the gorges and having an actual fall/winter again![]()

I'll probably be in the overwhelming minority here, but I'm really looking forward to the running (though the hills are less than ideal). Hopefully they have some nice trails to explore. I'm hoping to keep up decent training (give me some sort of routine to keep healthy) while in law school. Maybe I'll run a marathon or something in the fall.
I'm absolutely dreading the winter though. I just spent a year in Wisconsin and was ready to cry. I can obviously handle it, but I'm definitely going to have to really bite the bullet for a few more years.

If anyone is looking for housing, we have a spot in a house of law students close to the law school for a bit under $700 a month. Please PM me if you're interested.

Re: Cornell Class of 2017
We just got through our worst winter in 20 years up here(temperature-wise, snow was average), so you might be able to sneak through three years without a terrible one. Every winter seems to be different here, though. Freshman year had a ton of snow and was very cold, sophomore year was warm and dry, junior year was very cold and dry, and this past year was absolutely frigid(went below -20 multiple times, one day had a high temperature of -14, five week period of no temperature above freezing, no flowers or leaves came out until the end of April). You get used to it though. The first 60 degree day of the spring always feels like heaven.vicpin5190 wrote:lemons wrote:what are you all the most excited about for the upcoming year? probably for me the gorges and having an actual fall/winter again![]()

Hey, as long as I don't have to shovel, snow and the cold are alright with me.King Cayuga wrote:We just got through our worst winter in 20 years up here(temperature-wise, snow was average), so you might be able to sneak through three years without a terrible one. Does anyone have a link to the medical forms? I just spent way too much time looking for them but had no luck. Was it in an e-mail, or is it available online? I feel like I'm missing some basic page that lists all the important deadlines and forms to fill out before the start of school.vicpin5190 wrote:When does the NetID go out? I have to remember to check the front page for this stuff, I just go back to the last page or two of posting and forget to check. It turns out it was in the housing e-mail, just in case anyone else was having the same problem.

Question for anyone who knows the answer: So I've seen a few people mention that the physical is not required. What are the grounds for this? I am just going through the health history form and did not see anywhere where it says the physical is optional. Obviously I don't want to do it, but I just want to be sure before I leave that part of the form blank.

It's because every year, someone calls Gannett and they say the same thing: it's only required for varsity athletes. Then that person reports back here / in the fb group. Then most of us send in the forms with no physical and there's no problem whatsoever.-dasein- wrote:Question for anyone who knows the answer: So I've seen a few people mention that the physical is not required. But of course, you're welcome to call them yourself to be sure.

What's the deal with 13 South Ave. Do CLS students ever end up living here. Was going to do Collegetown Terrace but I just got an email about this. Anyone have any info/opinion on which option is better for living/being around other 1Ls?

The building down the stairs from the Hughes parking lot? I'm pretty sure that's a frat house. So no, I don't think any CLS students live there. Not sure what your e-mail says. It would be a great location though.koval wrote:What's the deal with 13 South Ave. Do CLS students ever end up living here. Was going to do Collegetown Terrace but I just got an email about this. Collegetown Terrace would be further away, but there would be more 1Ls living there. Unless there's some sort of "we're converting the frat house into law student housing" deal I'm unaware of.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
