Has anyone received a response from WilmerHale after confirming your preferred class? Or a registration email from Law Preview? 6 days & no response here.InvalidUsername wrote:Got it from Wilmerhale as well! Probably doing August in NYCbfc2013 wrote:+1, email this morning. The only timeframe and location that works for me is in August in DC. Perhaps we'll cross paths.
Unrelated, anyone thinking of travelling before GULC starts?

I think the link uses georgetown email (@georgetown.edu) instead of @law.georgetown.edu.

I got mine yesterday afternoon, I think they're rolling them out and you should get it by the end of the week.outlawscr10 wrote:Anyone know where we're supposed to get the Occupancy Agreement for Gewirz?

Anyone figure out if we can change our email address? The whole net id thing is annoying.

I received the email from the Office of Admissions. Apparently, the @Georgetown.edu exchange is correct

You can change your email handle to "@law" by following the directions here: --LinkRemoved--
Also hoping we can change our emails from our Net IDs.

Re: Georgetown Class of 2017
has this worked for anyone? I am not getting the email with the verification code, but my boyfriend sent me an email using @law.georgetown.edu and it worked just fine. Is anyone else having this problem?CknNgtz wrote:You can change your email handle to "@law" by following the directions here: --LinkRemoved--

EDIT: I'm an idiot and didn't check my spam folder. Haha how am I ever going to get through law school with THESE problem solving skills?

I just asked the help desk. They say we get both and it both works. People can send to either one and we'll get the email. Weird.

Before I go ahead and make the switch, does anyone know if we can also get rid of the NetID? I know it was mentioned before, and it seems like it would be the same process, but I wasn't sure if anyone tried it yet. I don't want to be that idiot who screws everything up before ever setting foot on campus...
I would rather it be one of you.
Oh, and:

B) FirstinitialLastname @law.georgetown.edu
C) FirstnameMiddleinitialLastname @law.georgetown.edu
D) Firstname.Middleinitial.Lastname @law.georgetown.edu
E) Other______

Re: Georgetown Class of 2017
In theory I'd like to do this as well, but the method above likely won't do it. Those instructions only allow you to add an existing account you already own, not edit the address of either account. What they're saying is that Georgetown has set us up with two email accounts already, and the non-law email is the default. All we're doing is making it so that we can choose to send from the law domain.dobie1 wrote:Before I go ahead and make the switch, does anyone know if we can also get rid of the NetID? Re: Georgetown Class of 2017
Yes I got mine on Tuesday, as did my roommate. I'm pretty sure it's due on the 16th, so if you haven't gotten it yet, you might want to give them a call.schmooky wrote:Has anyone planning on living in Gerwiz received the occupancy agreement yet?
EDIT: (one page of my occupancy says it is due on the 16th, the other page says the 21st, so I'm not sure which is the correct due date.)

Looks like it. Some long days, too. I feel very silly asking this question, but what is everyone going to be wearing to this stuff? It looks like there are some dinners/receptions with the dean, which I imagine are at least somewhat formal, but I really don't want to be that dork wandering around in a suit considering I'm already an old.theotherone823 wrote:There has been a tentative schedule up for at least the last week - did they post the final one?Mai19s13 wrote:Orientation schedule just released on admitted students website!

Re: Georgetown Class of 2017
This might change after the first day, but it's become my default for any place you want to make a favorable impression without looking like a douche: "nice" jeans (fitted, selvedge), casual button up shirt (maybe an OCBD), casual oxfords. Maybe a blazer if the weather calls for it, but definitely no tie. Substitute fitted khakis for a slightly cleaner look.TheSpanishMain wrote:Looks like it. Some long days, too. Yeah, that's sort of what I was thinking. Business casualish. I've living about twenty minutes away by metro, so if I show up and look like a douche it's a little harder to just go home and change.

Re: Georgetown Class of 2017
Hi folks,
GULC class of '16 here. If any of you folks have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them. Also, if any of you are vets, please do let me know!
Aside regarding dress for the orientation: it's quite a casual event (even with the dinner/reception the one night). I'd wear collared shirt, nice jeans, nice shoes most days, but it won't affect you whatsoever if you decide on t-shirts and shorts. In general, D.C. is a more conservative town when it comes to dress (you'll really find that for firm receptions, hiring policies, and working), but, for guys, no ties in summertime.
Cheers, and welcome to Georgetown! 1L is a rough go for anyone, but it's a great school and it should be a wild ride! Rest up as much as you can this summer!
