Re: Georgetown Class of 2017
The 2nd deposit is waived if you sign a form (under 'Forms' on the ASW) saying that you are hereby withdrawing from all waitlists/offers of admission from other law schools. It seems this applies to everyone, but if you're unsure, of course call the admin office.
**If you've been recently admitted/admitted off of the WL or PWL, and/or you are a part-time applicant, the deposit guidelines may be different for you and treated on an individual basis. The admissions/financial aid offices are very helpful, so be sure to call/email them if there's any doubt in your mind!
If you've been admitted but you're still unsure/riding waitlists, you must pay the $1200 second deposit, and if you withdraw by June 9th, you'll receive half of it back. (I found this info under 'Enrolling' --> 'Tuition and Deposit Payment Options' on the ASW.)
The deadline for both is June 1st (this Sunday).
Need-Based info: If your need-based aid is over $10,000, I think you just submit the regular '2nd Tuition Deposit form' and check the appropriate box about your aid that says your deposit is waived too. Again, this info is available on the ASW under 'Tuition and Deposit Payment Options.'
Edited for new info/clarity.

Thanks for the clarifications everybody. Logged onto my status checker, it says deposits fulfilled, so I think I'm good to go. Now the apartment hunting has to begin in earnest...

Checking in, can't wait to meet everyone! If there's anyone out there who hasn't decided on a place to live, and would consider a house with a backyard (dog friendly), please let me know

Hello all and congratulations in getting into G'town!
If anyone is still looking for a place to live, here is an ad for a place in Silver Spring, MD. If you prefer a more "home" feel instead of the busy/packed (and expensive DC) life, this is a great option only 20-ish minutes away via metro.

Re: Georgetown Class of 2017
Hi all!
I have been a Washingtonian (From Upstate NY originally) for the last four years and I am currently a rising 1L at GW Law. I am a 26 year old male, I've spent the last four years as an executive at a mid-level company based out of DC and I am currently looking for a roommate for the Fall!
I currently reside in a high rise on 14th (Florida & 14th) and would like (although not a necessity) to remain in the same U St/14th St area. I am looking for a fellow law student roommate/s to help maintain similar lifestyles/schedules.
Please PM me if you're interested and we can discuss further.
Thanks!
Vito

Right. What's the deal with some people getting an email saying the Law Preview scholly application and notification deadlines were extended a few days (per GULC FB group)? I did not get that email...?samblackbones wrote:Not yet. Apparently the notification deadline is the 10th.

I got it. That's about all it said. They extended the deadline a few days so they're extending the notification deadline.bfc2013 wrote:Right. Thanks for the info. Another Q - my application confirmation only mentioned WilmerHale - did anyone get confirmation for Latham & Watkins?uncreative wrote:I got it. That's about all it said. Mine only mentioned Latham, nothing from WilmerHale. Maybe difference in location? I'm in DC currently.bfc2013 wrote:Thanks for the info. In via WilmerHale just now. Pretty unexpected, but I'm excited!
The only timeframe and location that works for me is in August in DC. Perhaps we'll cross paths.

Quite a bit of pre-law travel for me, actually: going to New Zealand for a few weeks in July, then back home before a quick adventure up to Big Sur for a few nights before house-sitting in Napa.InvalidUsername wrote:Got it from Wilmerhale as well! same for DC! (though I might see if I can switch to the August session). Anyone know if we need books or certain materials for this?

I was wondering that as well. The website mentions having reading assignments for class, though I'm sure all will be revealed when we get our login and registration info in the next few days.spicyskittles wrote:Smitty7049 wrote:+1 WDC July 14-19th!!! This is super random but has anyone coming straight out of undergrad tried to renew their Amazon Prime student membership for law school yet? It's asking for enrollment stuff, tuition charges, or a student ID, which we don't have yet, so I was gonna send my acceptance letter to Gtown..anyone have luck with this? Tryna keep that 2 day free shipping
