So, they can't reasonably expect us to deposit without seeing our aid letters...right?

Definitely not. This is at the bottom of the enrollment page on the admitted students website:a.sleepyhead wrote:So, they can't reasonably expect us to deposit without seeing our aid letters...right?
Note: You do not need to accept Columbia’s offer of admission until you have received your award decision, provided your financial aid application was completed in a timely manner.

Zero financial aid here. Getting very tired of this.

Sorry to hear that! Do you mean you got $0 in grants or that you just haven't heard anything yet?Synch wrote:Zero financial aid here. Getting very tired of this.

So...somebody chime in here.
CLS's deposit is binding, and like actually binding, right? When are we supposed to ("supposed to" I mean schools don't want us to) negotiate, and how? Especially if we haven't gotten financial aid awards yet?

Re: Columbia Class of 2017
The deadline I'm most worried about is Chicago's negotiation deadline, which is this Friday. But I'm not so sure I can email Chicago and be like "hey, could I get an extension for complaining about my scholarship so I can hear from Columbia and maybe possibly [but probably not] have something even better to hold over your head?"fleurdelis2 wrote:I'm worried about that tooscoobers wrote:So...somebody chime in here.

Ditto. Got a passive-aggressive email from UVA saying that I have been holding onto my offer for months. Lol.MyopicVisage wrote:Same here. Only that my extension request was denied.fleurdelis2 wrote:I'm worried about that tooscoobers wrote:So...somebody chime in here.

Deferred student here, got some grant aid yesterday and some Perkins loans. They gave me exactly what I got last year, just like they said they would. WHEW.
Oh, and I didn't submit all my forms until like mid-March because I forgot.

Checking in with Hamilton.
10% School funded rate at Columbia is pretty upsetting though. Still deciding.
