I wouldn't worry. There will be plenty of money for the named scholarships. Maybe some donors just brought in the Vanderbilt this year to make sure Penn and UVA don't move ahead of NYU in the rankings. Also, keep in mind that a good number of people getting these full rides won't even enroll and NYU knows that.

Sorry I wasn't clear. I wasn't concerned about them running out of money for named scholarships but rather if we don't get a named scholarship and are put back in the pool for vandys and other merit aid.

Got contacted by an NYU student today, which was nice. Still waiting on my initial letter though. At what point should I enquire about the letter? I'm paranoid it will include a scholarship offer and I won't get it.

The only student who has contacted me was a RTK guy who said he would be a resource "if I had any questions about my RTK scholarship application." I took him up on it and emailed him a question about the application requirements. He replied "yeah, I'm really not the right person to ask."

No! I didn't submit the RTK app with the rest of my application, they emailed me after I was accepted to ask me to apply. I imagine that if you have already submitted, you probably won't hear until they've reviewed your app

I'm a little late to the Vandy party, but I have a question! 2, actually.

- Did those who got Vandy letters fill out the one or two page merit-only application? And/or did you tell the financial aid office you would only be doing merit / no need-based?

- On the merit-only application, it asks you to list the other schools to which you've been accepted and are "seriously considering" ... it should help not hurt to add an HYS to that list, right? Since we're already in, I'm assuming YP won't affect anything, just wanted to check...

don't we all. That was my first thought when I saw NYU in the subject line.

I did some stalking of last year's c/o thread, and it seems like it's around 2-3 weeks from when you submit your forms that they get back to you. Some were as fast as a week turnaround, others took a bit longer, 2-3 seemed to be the norm.

It's not that I doubt being admitted, it's that I'm paranoid that they included a scholarship offer with the letter and I didn't get it lol This law school admission process has had a curious effect on my thinking
