I love liquor. One or two beers are nice, but if I'm drinking for buzz/parties I prefer liquor.

Like people who agree to get married if they're still single at 40, I say we start an alcohol-laden law firm* if we're unemployed in four years.camelthing wrote:Also, if you have only one desk beer, you're probably struggling to be an alcoholic. If we miss BigLaw/clerk/prestigious PI, we can always go solo --> mini fridge (and we may need to). Silver linings!

I drink a lot of whiskey. Typically with my cats and Friends after a long day at the office.TheWalrus wrote:Anyone a liquor fan?
I would try to say I like one of rye, bourbon or scotch better than the others, but that's difficult.

I give everyone who is married the obligation of finding me someone to marry. I have about 8 people who I have a get married at 40 pact with (mostly them telling me and not asking me).Will_McAvoy wrote:Like people who agree to get married if they're still single at 40, I say we start an alcohol-laden law firm* if we're unemployed in four years.camelthing wrote:Also, if you have only one desk beer, you're probably struggling to be an alcoholic. I like the name.
We should do DUI work and policy work. In order to maximize DUI revenue, we'll need to campaign with M.A.D. to get the alcohol limit down to .02 or lower and create a web of confusing laws that require all kinds of legal work and prohibit pleas. This will be necessary to afford the amount of alcohol we will be consuming after striking out.

I think we should work with mad to get it down to -.08. That seems much more appropriate and will generate many more clients as well!

Don't get crazy now! Too much ambition will ruin our plan to be tanked the entire time.Attax wrote:I think we should work with mad to get it down to -.08. That seems much more appropriate and will generate many more clients as well!
Just remembered it's MADD.

!? Uh.. What exactly is the legal limit in Texas? I thought 0.08 was the standard pretty much everywhere.
But, yes, I like where your heads are at. I hope we don't need to resort to this, but it will certainly be better than selling furniture/crack in Lubbock if we fail at OCI.

Also, just by becoming lawyers, I think we get to be tanked all the time no matter what our workloads are. We just have to become functional drunks and get personal drivers/bus passes.

Fucking Lubbock. I was there this weekend. I love the desert/empty feel of west Texas, but fucking hell I hated Lubbock and for pretty much one weekend: no one knew how to fucking drive. I had to yield? Oh, why don't you slow down to half the speed limit while I'm waiting for you to get the hell by. And those signs on the interstate saying minimum speed? Those are there because people in Lubbock would drive slower if they could!

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of beer. Not that I don't like it, because I love it, but I'm not really an aficionado. I'll just stick to my rotation of Dos Equis, Blue Moon, and whatever other beers happen to fall across my lap.
Liquor though.... <3

So we have until June 5th to sign a letter of intent, but does anywhere know exactly where we get it/send it?
Also, when should I start looking into parking permits and buying one? I looked them up and there were like 84 options.

Mr. Riley called yesterday and mentioned that they would be sending the LOI shortly, but I can't remember if he said by snail mail or email.cannibal ox wrote:So we have until June 5th to sign a letter of intent, but does anywhere know exactly where we get it/send it?

I received mine by email, printed/signed/scanned it, and then emailed it right back to the admissions address.Kool-Aid wrote:Mr. Riley called yesterday and mentioned that they would be sending the LOI shortly, but I can't remember if he said by snail mail or email.cannibal ox wrote:So we have until June 5th to sign a letter of intent, but does anywhere know exactly where we get it/send it?

I didn't think the parking passes for Fall were available until August 1st, but I should probably check again.

Anyone know how you go about getting football tickets?

Re: Texas Class of 2017
I have no idea if it works the same for non-UGs, but typically you sign up for the LASP (Longhorn All Sports Package) which lets you participate in ticket draws. For most games there are plenty of tickets available, but some games it can be a bit more difficult (RRR for instance).

It will be sad to leave my powerhouse undergrad for a school that couldn't even get one player drafted...Kool-Aid wrote:Anyone know how you go about getting football tickets?

I always felt a bit disconnected while cheering for my local state school, since I didn't attend, so I'm looking forward to being a UT homer.

I guess I could counter with something like "five losses in six games" or "your basketball coach manages to simultaneously look like a whiney brat and the Grinch" but I know this isn't a winning battle. Besides, we're both UT fans first and foremost now, right? Right?

My state undergrad wasn't terrible, but I look forward to everything about going to a school with a major D-1 program. Plus, I think we have a chance to be really good in a few years with Charlie Strong now in charge.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
