I also got a Hughes assignment without depositing (although I did deposit this weekend). I'm 99% not going to be living in Hughes though, so another spot will open for you guys waiting.

I wasn't too sold on Hughes Hall either tbh. Plus I'm not sure if basically living inside the law school would be good for my mental health.
I'm waiting to hear back from financial aid about my negotiation, but I will most likely be depositing come Friday.
Time to seriously start searching for housing.

Is anyone else here waiting to receive finan aid info from Cornell prior to Duke's April 25th deadline?

Re: Cornell Class of 2017
I'm glad to hear so many people are not actually going to be living in Hughes, since apparently it's been full since Thursday(Not that I'm certain I want to live there either). At least I was finally able to get on the waiting list, though.

Replace Duke with not-Duke & replace the 25th with today, and yes.Hitchensian wrote:Is anyone else here waiting to receive finan aid info from Cornell prior to Duke's April 25th deadline?

How did you find out that Hughes is full?

I was talking with the housing director via email relating to my earlier problems, and she said that every room was assigned on Thursday.Thiggs wrote:How did you find out that Hughes is full?

In regards to Hughes Hall, how can I know if I will be living in a 2,3,4,5,or 6-person suite?

Hughes question: How are the suites set up? Does each bedroom have it's own key to lock?

Re: Cornell Class of 2017
Somewhere on the housing contract, it should say "occupants." If it doesn't list your roommates now, maybe it will in June, like it did for us. Also, the suite on 3L has 6 people, no matter what the misleading contract says.narddawg wrote:In regards to Hughes Hall, how can I know if I will be living in a 2,3,4,5,or 6-person suite?

I'm sure housing would tell you if you asked them. Alternatively, PM me your room # and I'll just tell you how many are in that suite.
Yes. There's a door to the suite which you can theoretically lock (but we never do), and then each bedroom has it's own lockable door. The suite will also have one bathroom inside, usually with one toilet, two sinks and one shower. The 6-person suite has 2 toilets.bincognito wrote:Hughes question: How are the suites set up? Any idea how long it usually takes to get your NetID after depositing?

With Hughes filling up, or filled up, what's the next closest, and good housing spot for a 1L?

That's the rub. Housing rush in Collegetown was seven months ago(lol) and most of what's left is either very expensive or very far away.Otunga wrote:With Hughes filling up, or filled up, what's the next closest, and good housing spot for a 1L?

Georgetown just made things very interesting with their merit scholarship offer. Really need Cornell to respond so I have more than 24 hours to decide...
