Yeahhhh, I think that's probably what he's doing. His post last week said he was looking at 40k /year and he hasn't mentioned scholly offers at other schools that could have possibly bumped up the GULC offer. I could be wrong, of course.TheSpanishMain wrote:Maybe he's combining outside scholarships/funding?barrelofmonkeys wrote:wait whatlinkx13 wrote:Just accepted a free ride. See you all in DC!

Maybe this is better link?cactusflower wrote:Scholly offer accepted, signed, and submitted- committed to GTown!
Does anyone have info regarding GULC health insurance? I can see the cost in the COL breakdown, but I’m just wondering when the coverage starts, whether it is year-round or only nine months, what company it’s through, how comprehensive it is, etc. Unfortunately the link on the website isn’t working: --LinkRemoved--
I’m in a weird position regarding my health insurance right now and just wish I had a better handle on GULC’s specific policies…

Fall 2013-2014 Plan Year:
Term of Coverage: 8/15/2013 - 8/14/2014
Applicable Open Enrollment Period: 2nd week in July - September 15, 2013
$2,325 per student
$6,792 per student and spouse
$6,792 per student and child(ren)
$10,656 per student and family
Spring 2013-2014 Plan Year:
Term of Coverage: 1/1/2014 - 8/14/2014
Applicable Open Enrollment Period: 2nd week in December 2013 - January 31, 2014
$1,471 per student
$4,237 per student and spouse
$4,237 per student and child(ren)
$6,630 per student and family
So, looks like $193 a month for the full year premium plan. Not too bad considering. Maybe one could get a lower rate through ACA rates, but I think we've passed the enrollment possibility until next year. Anyone able to shed some light on this?
Some additional things to keep in mind about this plan:
º The Premier Plan does not cover dental/vision because it is a medical injury and sickness Plan. However, insureds have access to Basix Dental Discount Network, which is linked on the Premier Plan Service web page. In addition, check Gallagher Koster's website to enroll in a voluntary dental plan or to explore other Discount Networks provided through Gallagher Koster Insurance Agency that complement the Premier Plan.
º The schedule for benefits is on page 17 of the plan (link below)
º $10 copay for doctor visits
º $10 - $35 copay for prescriptions depending on drug
The plan itself can be found here -- https://georgetown.app.box.com/s/choztw9znshf5p47ohsa
Note that this is the 2013-14, but I don't see any reason that this year's would be substantially different.

Re: Georgetown Class of 2017
I was just emailed about a merit scholarship today and I have a silly question. Is the amount in the email per year, or your total amount?
(Email wording: This scholarship is for $X for each of three years of full-time study here at the Law Center.)

If you don't mind answering, about how long was the turnaround after replying to the scholarship consideration email?fkt18 wrote:I was just emailed about a merit scholarship today and I have a silly question. Is the amount in the email per year, or your total amount?

Anyone know how strict they are about the May 1st deadline for the Dean's Certification? My alma mater is being so difficult.cactusflower wrote:How long did it take everyone else's Dean's Cert to check off in the Requirements Box? My undergrad refuses to send it because I won't waive my right to see it. I have no issues and was always in good standing but the principle of this is bothering me.

Where is the requirements checklist? Is it just something that I'm missing on MyAccess?

It's on the Admits website. Go to "Enrolling" - "Deadlines" in the drop-down menu has everything organized by date.nicholasavallone wrote:Where is the requirements checklist? Is it just something that I'm missing on MyAccess?

Re: Georgetown Class of 2017
All my documents are in. What a headache. Got my grant info today . . . sort of depressing but oh well. Time to get fired up for Georgetown. FWIW the reception in Orange County was held at Gibson Dunn. 4 perspective students and about 10 alumni. 3 partners from G-Town. They seemed enthusiastic about prospects for alums and the whole reception was positive - put some of my concerns to rest. The Gibson Dunn partners noted that they are not concerned about curriculum b at all - the hiring partner hadn't heard of it (and is an alum). Good luck to those of you still negotiating for $$$ and anyone on the waitlist.

Re: Georgetown Class of 2017
I'm curious what everyone else is receiving in terms of emails, ad also if anyone else never received a response regarding their scholarship request? Granted, I haven't deposited yet as I'm waiting to hear about merit aid, but I haven't seen a single reminder email, never mind the radio silence re: scholly money. I've called a few times over the past two months and received answers like "you'll receive a response tomorrow" (well over a month ago), to "soon", or "hopefully within a week". Starting to get antsy with no contact.

I sent an email about scholarships, got the email with gauging interest and with the question, a response saying they have received my email and will get back to me no later than the end of April, then radio silence.Glasseyes wrote:I'm curious what everyone else is receiving in terms of emails, ad also if anyone else never received a response regarding their scholarship request? OK, good to know I'm not the only one. I'm seeing others talking about this "alternate list", which is entirely new to me, while we've literally heard nothing. Good times.BmoreOrLess wrote:I sent an email about scholarships, got the email with gauging interest and with the question, a response saying they have received my email and will get back to me no later than the end of April, then radio silence.Glasseyes wrote:I'm curious what everyone else is receiving in terms of emails, ad also if anyone else never received a response regarding their scholarship request? I'm assuming since we haven't heard anything, they're not offering us anything yet. And yet... they haven't eliminated the possibility, either. Gah.

I received a scholarship boost yesterday. Apparently my original scholarship was need-based only and Georgetown added merit money. I still don't think I'm going but it's odd seeing as how my numbers are very average for Georgetown and no one else has reported anything.

I got this a couple of weeks ago, and got another boost yesterday. Very pleased with it! This all comes after originally being told I was an alternate for scholarships.cactusflower wrote:Same thing happened to me last week.King Cayuga wrote:I received a scholarship boost yesterday. Also average/splitter numbers, nothing fantastic.
