Forgive me if this has already been addressed, but what's the deal with scholarship offers? I was accepted fairly early on on January and have not heard anything since (I expect to get at least some money).

Who has heard already and does anyone know when the rest of decisions will come out?

In the same boat as you. Accepted mid-January and haven't heard anything definitive re: scholarships/aid.

Really hoping I can get out at a normal time on Friday, since I have never made the trek from NYC to Philly before, and don't really know how long it will take.

Are you taking the bus or the train?

Train, most likely. Maybe even drive. But I would need to borrow one of my parents' cars.

I'm hoping i can get out and on an earlier train as well... fingers crossed for a slow day tomorrow.

How is everyone's housing search? I'll be traveling in the summer so I'm trying to get housing squared away. Do law students tend to gravitate toward center city?

I've been looking into some 2 bedrooms because I prefer to live with at least one other person... just gotta find a roommate(s)... Options are to either shout it out on FB or follow up after ASW with people I click with. I don't want to use that roommate match service... that didn't go over too well with me during college.

I got in on the housing search early and I'm glad to be done now. I have a large dog so it was really difficult for me to find a place that would take him. I looked at all the places in the welcome packet thing that Penn sent out and a bunch of others but none of them would accept husky mixes. I found my 1br in University City on Craigslist so don't be afraid to use that in your search, especially if you have special circumstances! Good luck!

So do merit and financial aid come separately? I just got my acceptance packet and no mention of either, though I already have an email that says no financial aid. Am I correct in assuming this means nothing wrt merit aid?

2400 is pretty close to the law school actually, as close as you can be on the Center City side of the river and probably closer than most West Philly places students live. It's OK but a little pricy and the walls are thin.

Good idea, probably more fun to go to a place where its informal and alcohol lol. Didn't realize some of these places were byob.

Yeah, I figured the breweries would be more fun. That said, it doesn't seem like any of the places are too "fancy," and I'm sure they will all be relatively laid back since it's entirely current and prospective students (i.e. no adcoms, profs, etc.).

I did actually! I contacted her, but I don't have a roommate (nor do I know anyone coming to Penn in the fall). But I am keeping it in mind for sure!
