MOUNTAIN BIKERS: Check the "Explore" feature on the STRAVA website or app. This will give you a great idea of how much riding is available near C-Ville. Pretty exciting really. It's one of the reasons I'm really anxious to get a response from UVA. Regarding the response, my status checker is different than for other schools in that it doesn't mention a status. There is no sign of the complete, or pending, etc. Anyone else notice this? Should I call to check in?

Re: UVA Class of 2017
UVA only updates twice: once when complete (when you get your status checker) and once when a decision has been reached. You should have the complete message (read the paragraph above all of the boxes). That paragraph is all you will see until a decision has been made.stewart23 wrote:MOUNTAIN BIKERS: Check the "Explore" feature on the STRAVA website or app. This will give you a great idea of how much riding is available near C-Ville. So... as happy as I am for those who got full scholarships AND got into HYS, are you going to take the UVA $ or are you going elsewhere? Just curious.
(Just think, if you go to HYS, maybe some of us will get some money too

Just booked for ASW. Looking forward to seeing Charlottesville. Going to be a tough decision for me, so I'm hoping some visits will clear things up.

I have a question along these lines as well...What is the "ethical" or standard timeframe in which one should withdraw an acceptance/app if it is already decided that another school/scholly will be the final choice? Do most people plan to ride it out and see, "just in case", or go ahead and put it back "in the pot" for another student (waitlist or in need of aid--especially full aid like Dillard).

Re: UVA Class of 2017
Well, if you have already made your "final" choice, then I would say immediately. If it's your final choice then there really wouldn't be any other considerations that you will take into account, so what would be the point in hanging on?sunsheyen wrote:marsters wrote:So... as happy as I am for those who got full scholarships AND got into HYS, are you going to take the UVA $ or are you going elsewhere? I would say placing a deposit at another school would be the hard ethical limit for withdrawing from other schools, with the exception of schools you haven't heard from or are waitlisted at and would reasonably consider attending if admitted.

Do y'all think there will be regular aid offers made today/this week?

Without question. They wouldn't have sent out that fin. aid email out if they were only talking about full-rides. That's an extremely small percentage of the accepted students pool.SplitMyPants wrote:Do y'all think there will be regular aid offers made today/this week?

Perhaps this is a stupid/paranoid question, but did everyone get that SIS login info email about need aid? That doesn't necessarily mean you're not getting merit, right?

When did it come? I registered for SIS when I saw the info on the admitted students website, but I don't think I've received an email (at least not recently) about it.vivala wrote:Perhaps this is a stupid/paranoid question, but did everyone get that SIS login info email about need aid? Does the fin aid email include the actual $ amount or does it just direct you to a link that you have to login to for the amount?

Re: UVA Class of 2017
There was no mention of an amount, just instructions about how to set up SIS to apply for financial aid.jdapplicant wrote:Does the fin aid email include the actual $ amount or does it just direct you to a link that you have to login to for the amount?

By fin aid email I meant the ones that went out yesterday (with $$$) and the ones going out later today.vivala wrote:There was no mention of an amount, just instructions about how to set up SIS to apply for financial aid.jdapplicant wrote:Does the fin aid email include the actual $ amount or does it just direct you to a link that you have to login to for the amount?
Edit: I should have said awards emails. My mistake

My eyes stopped reading at schollies went out around 2-2:30. Not realizing what time it was and thinking that it was later, I immediately freaked.SteelPenguin wrote:So... schollies went out around 2-2:30 yesterday....
