Not sure there's a perfect answer here, but usually it's something like

$ = some money
$$ = ~ half tuition
$$$ = full tuition
$$$$ = full tuition + (aka Ruby)

I could be way off the norm here, though.

I normally think of it as:

$=15k-40k
$$=40k-75k
$$$=75k-120k
$$$$=Full or full + stipend

Business casual sounds good to me. :wink:
The one I went to (not in NYC) was business casual. These events are a lot of fun and usually laid back.

A 100% increase is probably expecting a little too much. But probably not impossible. It's just not going to happen to everyone.

Do we have any idea when this most recent wave of admits will hear re: merit aid? If Chicago waits as long as they did for the February admits we wouldn't know until after the seat deposit deadline. Also, does Chicago have any mechanism like NYU where you can tell them that you are only seeking merit aid?? Thanks for the help!

I was notified that I won't be receiving any. They wouldn't reconsider if I showed them some small/decent sized scholarships from NU/mich, right?

Never hurts to try. But a goose egg means that you want them more than they want you. I don't have much experience negotiating from this end, though so I might be wrong. I would study for a june retake if I were you.

Those are all really fantastic teachers. I can't emphasize enough how great our 1L profs are. I just talked to someone from SLS and he hates his profs. The entire law school musical made fun of Stone and it was amazing btw.

Does Chicago just do a seat deposit deadline or do they also have a Statement of Intent to Register?
