I got the same email, yup. Apparently there's a waiting list for financial aid now :P

I got a similar e-mail probably around mid-March, then received a bump up from 26.5k to 35k last week - so I'd say there's a decent chance.

This is random, but can anyone PM me any info on paying the deposit by e-check? I scoured the ASW and can't find anything, only info on paying by paper check.

edit: figured it out, never mind!

35k total or per year?

Saw a few pages back people having trouble accessing the Yellow application. I've tried changing my password a second time, but even on that page there's an error about not recognizing my user. Anyone have any insight into this?

Do you mind actually posting how to do that? I have not been able to find it, haha. Thanks!

If you've received your financial aid information/activated your MyAccess login, it's through that portal. You click on "applicant." on the welcome screen.

Anybody think there's a chance of greater than $20k awards off the alternate list? Trying to figure out whether I should bail on the list/GULC in general.

So I just received a Financial Aid Award Letter via email with a link to the MyAccess to check my award. In there, it only shows $78,900 worth of grants. Does this mean I am not being considered for a merit award? Or is that a separate process?

Thanks for the help.

Separate process, you will get another email with your merit award if you filled out the correct forms

Thanks, FOM. What are these correct forms? I followed the directions on the Financial Aid website and filled out the Yellow form. Is there a separate form for merit aid? If so, can you point me in the right direction?

You are considered for merit aid when GULC emails you letting you know you are being considered.
The email looks something like this:

"Dear Student,

You are being considered for a merit scholarship. Please respond to this email by X date to let us know if you would like to be considered, and what amount would make a difference in your decision."

Or something along those lines.

Some people have posted ITT saying they took initiative and emailed the admissions office themselves asking to be considered; I think this has worked for some, but for most people, you are considered when they send you that email. There is no separate form for merit aid; it is kind of a strange process.

They are now in the midst of their 2nd round of scholarship awards from what I can tell.

If you already did the yellow form, you're good. If you don't get an email about merit aid in the next week or two, send them an email and see if you're being considered. There is a deadline coming up on the 14th for many people who were offered money already, so I imagine more offers will be going out in the next couple of weeks.

For ALL of you guys that have trouble with that YELLOW application...
GULC seems to be having some problems with their server right now.

I tried all day yesterday, trying to call different numbers, submitting a trouble ticket, etc etc and
still was not able to access that application.

Then I remembered that when I tried to change my password, I saw a red x mark...
which meant I cannot reset my password at the law center (server unavailable etc)

So........
Just letting you guys know so you don't have to go through what I went through yesterday.

Well I got the "Award" letter. Funny name for it, considering that there was no actual award. Show me the money Georgetown!

I also received an "award letter" pertaining to need aid.

Same. Any idea if/how grants carry over 2l and 3l?

Just sent in my deposit. See y'all in August!

Also, for those still waiting on merit aid, I know the next 2 deposit deadlines for those who received scholarships are April 14 and April 17. I bet you'll see some movement after next Thursday.

I am under the impression that they are renewable, barring any major financial gains.

"Awards are generally renewable at the same level for up to two additional years of full-time study at Georgetown Law"

see- https://www.law.georgetown.edu/admissio ... stance.cfm
So, need aid isn't sent out as a separate letter, right? I got the email saying Financial Aid Award, logged in to the website, and saw that my final total was roughly double my merit award in the 2014-2015 academic year breakdown. I'm assuming this it the FINAL total, and since it's more than my merit aid award, I won't be able to add merit on top of it even if I negotiate an even higher award.

That sound correct?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
