Is there a particular form we have to give our dean's office or do we just tell them to send it to the office of admissions at Columbia?
Edit: Nvm, according to the admitted student site, it is required in order to matriculate and should be submitted no later than June 15. If you haven't committed to Columbia then I don't think it's required.
So this is probably a stupid question but how are we supposed to submit the financial aid questionnaire?

Are you sure about the snail mail? I'm a K-JD, and I generally don't get my mail until a week+ after the send date because our P.O. How long do you normally have to wait to get your Columbia ID number? I got the admit email, the email for the survey, and the blue envelope in the mail but I still haven't received the ID number to complete the financial aid questionnaire.

Don't worry about deadlines too much. Columbia will scan and email your financial aid award if you need it early. They did it for me and plenty of others when coordinating with NYU and Chi deposit deadlines.tlsapp2017 wrote:Are you sure about the snail mail? It was bad enough waiting for my actual decision, but I really need to hear back about $ in time to possibly appeal and then hear back again before the NYU scholarship acceptance due date
Also I think I've mentioned this earlier, but all the deans of financial aid (and deans of admission) know each other and are in touch. So 1) don't bullshit them and 2) if you're honest they will be able to coordinate and work faster to get you the info you need.

You're talking about the third page of the aid questionnaire, right? New students don't have to enter an ID; that page is just for returning students.moopness wrote:How long do you normally have to wait to get your Columbia ID number? From the students I've talked to, it varies a lot, from not terrible & smallish to awesome.bitcheslovecake wrote:Does anyone have pictures of what ordinary UAH housing looks like...? Kind of freaking out about housing options

I'm guessing Lenfest would be awesome...as long as the worst is "not terrible" I'm chill. You don't necessarily have to limit yourself to the immediate vicinity of campus, especially since the 1 line runs right by and you can be in midtown in less than 30 minutes. I used to live right by the park on West 75th, there's a lot of housing options there and it's a great neighborhood.bitcheslovecake wrote:Does anyone have pictures of what ordinary UAH housing looks like...? Hey guys, do you know how viable it is to live in New Jersey and take public transportation to CLS from there? I'm trying to gauge potential living expenses.

Is there supposed to be a comment section in the housing application?
It seems like there was one in previous years based on older threads, but I can't see one.. Or are we to submit detailed comments via email?

If I go to CLS, I'm planning on living in Hoboken and then taking the PATH to the 1 to commute. It's totally doable - I live in Midtown Manhattan and know the area/transportation. It's about an hour commute, but to me the cheaper CoL is worth it.Gucci Mane wrote:Hey guys, do you know how viable it is to live in New Jersey and take public transportation to CLS from there? At the ASP one of the current students told us to email the housing director and to be as specific as you want, and that they have a good track record of helping you get what you are looking for. And there are definitely one person apartments, for more money obviously.Balthy wrote:Interested in this as well. Re: Columbia Class of 2017
I just turned in my housing app. Has anyone else done theirs?
I was reading through the c/o 2016 thread and people were talking about how they requested specific buildings (and even specific floors i think) but there were no question like that on this years app. Is there another housing app that they send us later or is this year just different than last years?

Is anybody in the DC area heading to ASP next week? I'm trying to arrange my work schedule so I can make it, but if so, I'm probably being super cheap and taking the megabus or equivalent. Wondering if I'll have any travel companions.

$1300 for SHARED housing, $1800 for your own place. Can't believe it costs that much to share an apartment, I reallllly don't want to share an apartment :/
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
