Ok. Thanks for the reply.swampman wrote:Different people at the FinAid office have told different applicants different things regarding this. The final answer that I got was that, yes, both were required, but that you can leave parental info blank (write 0 and N/A in required spots) if you do not want to be considered for need aid. I imagine you could press them and they would allow you to only submit FAFSA, and this appears to be the case for some people, but I would recommend getting that in writing from FinAid office first.SplitMyPants wrote:In UVA's financial email they state that Need Access is required if you are looking to use Stafford and GradPlus loans. I was under the impression that this was not the case and that you only needed to submit FAFSA for these loans. Am I misreading the above sentence? All students who wish to be considered for law school scholarships which have a need component or who are planning to apply for federal financial aid including Stafford and GradPlus Loans must complete both the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the on-line Need Access application.

Anyone heard anything about scholarship/financial aid? I'm assuming we're all waiting until March, but March is getting awfully close...

In my acceptance letter, it said we should hear back by March 1st (which is a Saturday), but then I saw something that said March 3rd (which is a Monday and makes more sense).Sojourner2 wrote:Anyone heard anything about scholarship/financial aid? It's Monday, March 3rd for everyone that submitted FAFSA and Need Access by Feb 14th.UCLAHopeful2014 wrote:In my acceptance letter, it said we should hear back by March 1st (which is a Saturday), but then I saw something that said March 3rd (which is a Monday and makes more sense).Sojourner2 wrote:Anyone heard anything about scholarship/financial aid? Thanks!
I know there has been some talk on here before about Jeff Scholarships. Is the general consensus that those are already gone by now?

This may be a stupid question, but are there any graphs, charts, resources, etc that show likelihood of scholarship $ based on scores? All this talk of scholarship money has gotten me more anxious than before!

Thanks! Any reason why the 159-163 LSAT in the 3.9 GPA column average more money than the 164-169?

Maybe it is mostly URMs?
edit: NVM, URM excluded.

Yeah, the URM hypothesis would make some sense.

What I wish is that I could use this if they don't offer me the money indicated on the sheet lol. I hope I get somewhat close to what it shows on there.SplitMyPants wrote:No problem. Re: UVA Class of 2017
Has anyone who has been accepted this cycle successfully request a one year deferment from UVA?
Any idea of how lenient they are about granting deferments this cycle?
I will be asking for a deferment soon and am looking for some tips from others who have done so.
Thanks.

Per the posters there, UVA admins have been real good about granting deferments in the past

Yes, very lenient and quick in response to requests from what I remember.Muff wrote:Check out this thread http://top-law-schools.com/forums/viewt ... start=8775mulhollanddrive wrote:Has anyone who has been accepted this cycle successfully request a one year deferment from UVA?
