Can we please discuss orientation outfits.

Generally, I'm thinking theme is: Don't be a full suit + tie guy (unless requested for class pic like some schools) and don't rock the HS gym class look. Between those two.

We're required to wear full business professional on Day One (presumably for a class picture and photos to post on Facebook), then "business casual" the rest of the week, with a coat + tie suggested on one of the days for a video introduction (gag!) to faculty and career services.

You mean the video introduction? Yeah, not sure of the point. Maybe give the profs a reason to cold call me less often.

I respect that. but really for guys they're not that many other levels. I eliminated relaxed and formal, there's only casual and biz caz left. Guys just have outfits based on the 4 tiers of pants. So for this: sweatpants tier no, jeans tier yes, slacks tier yes, suit pants tier no.

Yeah exactly. I guess for a class pic it's ok but I'm still kinda annoyed that day one we gotta have a preftigious dress code circle j. Guess they wanna do the pic before we actually have classes or finals (or even worse grades) so we're all one big naive happy family.

ETA: yes leigh, a week. that's what I'm probably annoyed with more than the suiting up

Ya orientation is long at some schools. Guess that's a result of the enormous tuition and fees they charge. Go spending it on dinners, open bars, and yacht parties lol
