Re: Cornell Class of 2017 (Now with $$$$)
Hi guys,
I got in a week or two ago (after the scholarship deadline) and sent in my financial aid documents right away. Nothing came with my acceptance package. Is financial aid typically tracked in the status checker, sent via email, or snail mail only?
Thanks for answering in advance!

Snail mail, separate from acceptance packet. Many of us within the deadline gave yet to receive ours, fwiw.ec24 wrote:Hi guys,

Also there's no mention of it on the status checker.SplitMyPants wrote:Snail mail, separate from acceptance packet. Many of us within the deadline gave yet to receive ours, fwiw.ec24 wrote:Hi guys,

There is part of me that thinks this is a strategy on the school's part to minimize time for negotiations.Serett wrote:I sent an email inquiring aboutSplitMyPants wrote:Empty mailbox againthe status of my aidwhether or not they had received my FinAid materials, and they responded that they hope to have a result to me by the end of the week. That would be annoying given that Cornell has one of the highest tuition rates. But I doubt that's the reason. It's probably because, as we know, the admission staff isn't what we would call "speedy."

Their deposit deadline is over three weeks off, so scholarships this week wouldn't be too bad.Yea All Right wrote:That would be annoying given that Cornell has one of the highest tuition rates. I find it strange that my cycle is almost over. It's something that I have been nervously anticipating since high school.
I still don't have a clear idea of where I am going.

I had pretty much given up on Cornell after getting snubbed financially. Yet, as the days and weeks have passed I can't help but return to Cornell. I am going to try and negotiate with them to make my burden more palatable. When, do you all think, is the best time to negotiate? Now? After the big April 15th deposit deadline day?

Re: Cornell Class of 2017 (Now with $$$$)
Flights are ludicrously priced from my area at the moment (which is only partially due to my admitted procrastination), so yeah, I'm swallowing that time commitment. I'm also hoping to schedule a visit to Michigan on Thursday (to which I'd drive for a visit, anyway, as a Midwesterner) in order to reduce the sting.barrelofmonkeys wrote:Serett wrote:Driving 900 miles and AirBnB'ing for ASW next week, so this should be an adventure
