NYU Class of 2017 - Basically graduated Forum

They go out mid July. 3.6 seems to be the lowest reported for cum laude, probably around 3.75 for magna. I'm guessing 3.55-3.6 will probably be the cum laude floor again.

In previous threads, folks who had around 3.56 were okay for McKay, but didn't break cum laude. No reason to suspect this year won't be very similar.

Update from the Office of Graduate Affairs for LLM and Exchange Students:

June 8 at 9:06am

To all of the 2016-17 LLM students who are planning on taking the NY bar this July: There are always some professors who get there grades in a little late, and there is always a little last minute scrambling to get everyone graduated in time. All of the NY bar paperwork needs to be sent out by June 14, and I promise you that it will happen. In my five years here we've never missed the deadline for anyone. I know that the whole process can be anxiety-provoking, but I do ask that you keep phone calls and emails about it to a minimum. Please trust me when I say that we are on top of this, and will take care of it.

Yeah I feel like seminars are easy B+s and you have to work your butt off to pull an A-. Ethics in Government with Biben was my easiest class this year (it counts as Professional Responsibility) - you just have to speak one time every class and write a 5 to 7-page paper. No exam or anything.

Folks have any thoughts on what median might be for our class? I've read here and there that it usually hovers around 3.3. year to year, but nothing to confirm that.

I think 3.3 might be close for 1L, but with seminars/clinics it's probably closer to 3.4 by 3L.

No data points, but it looks like latin honors are already out? Just saw someone with magna cum laude posted on linkedin.

Haha the 2018 thread never really made it off the ground, which is why I assume the above poster asked here. I suppose it doesn’t matter anymore since TLS is basically dead.
