Ladies and gentlemen let's not forget the old adage "a 2 at home, is always a 10 on the road"

that shit's the worst.
Happened to be at Madrid's metro once. Sign said "6 minutes"....30 minutes later it finally takes me home when I'm fucking wasted. Last thing I wanted to deal with

Re: TLS Class of 2017
Guy in front of me turns around in his seat, keeps looking at me, and I pretend I'm sleeping. 10 minutes later he starts trying to talk to me, and literally just no. People facing me on the other side of the train are laughing at my face as I talk to this guy, because it's clear that I'm not interested. Woof.

I think Scotti was too tipsy to appreciate that dilemma.

Re: TLS Class of 2017
A Game to Play on Your Way to Law School For Fun and Profit:
Step: 1: look around you. What do you see? Where are you? Maybe the airport. Maybe in a car. We all get to law school by different conveyances, and that's OKAY. But what's in common for us all is that we'll see people, other people. Look at them. This is step 1.
Step: 2: Talk to them about normal things. If you are in a plane this is easier than in a car. Don't try to yell through your window. Just stop the car at a gas station maybe.
Step: 3: Interview them. Subtly. Ask questions like the ones you got on admissions interviews or expect to get when it is time to interview for jobs.
Step: 4: Listen to their answers without prejudice or condescension. Strive to really open your heart and empathize with these people. Remind yourself about why you are entering law school if possible.
Step: 5: Post the most inspiring interchanges here for the rest of us to be inspired by.

Re: TLS Class of 2017
thanks, georgej. since I'm traveling up the east coast with me pops for moving purposes, I'll try to get to the bottom of the whole "are you disappointed in how I turned out" kerfuffle. otherwise, we'll see how the people at the new jersey turnpike rest areas view the world. (but seriously, the landscape from DC to NY is a cesspit, the Russians probably could have nuked it in the late 60s [if Kennedy had listened to his military advisers] without too much effacement of the earth's natural beauty).

I think that strategy could pay-off bigtime, E.W. especially talking to your dad.
