Is anyone who is not a URM planning to attend the diverse ASW events? I will be arriving in town a little late for the events on Thursday, as I assumed that the events were not intended for non-URMs like myself. Now that I see the events are open and maybe even intended for non-URMs, I really want to take advantage of the opportunities. Do any URM applicants want to comment on your perceptions of having non-URMs at these events?

Which airport are you flying into? I just take the 'L' from midway usually. I've done the shuttle service before too though, and it is nice if you are getting in late because it drops you at your door. Can be a bit of a drive though if you are a ways down the list of dropoffs.

Not sure if I'll be able to make it to ASW in April. But I did my interview on-campus so I had the opportunity to check out the building/surroundings, and I definitely left with zero concerns regarding the location/facilities.

Also, per the following blurb from the financial aid email I received, I think there's little hope for scholarship notifications this week:

"The financial aid application was due March 1; however, since you have been admitted after March 1, your deadline will be 5 business days from the date of your admission. The required parts of the financial aid application are described below. We plan to make award announcements shortly afterwards so please take care of this immediately.

To apply for financial aid, we must receive the following from you by 5:00 pm CST on March 21, 2014"

I looked back at the previous cycle's NU forum and it looks like scholorships went out the very last week of March. It would make sense that they would definitely send them before ASW. Oh and congrats on the acceptance!

It was an "express deal" so you don't know what you get until you pay for it. I got the Inn of Chicago but it may be different for you.

Well basically the set up is pretty informal. Business casual attire, but interactions were casual. You are assigned to eat at a table made up of other admitted students, alum, and faculty. And basically you just get the chance to ask more questions about the school and get an honest opinion from someone who has been where you've been. They were very honest about employment opportunities and the school atmosphere. I also got to meet their director of diversity, which as a URM really helped. It's just a fun way to meet some people who may potentially be your classmates, professors, etc.
