I'm either $230k in the hole or $100k in the hole. Either way I'm fucked. Jelly of people without debt but also a lot of those people deserve it because they worked their asses off and/or did some amazing things. Hard to not just be happy for you peeps

Well what's 230k in the hole or 100k in the hole? On face value the latter looks like "eh, with the right school, a person could manage that" while the former looks like "holy shit, abort!"

My parents were trying to convince me to go to WUSTL at sticker over UIUC for a grand total of 30k. I was like, thanks, but you being able to tell your friends at parties that your son goes to WUSTL for law schools is not worth 200k of debt and at best a modest gain in employment.

Yeah, for real. I didn't work very hard in college hence my mediocre GPA and I learned 90% of my logic for the LSAT by playing Magic: The Gathering. I'M A FRAUD *sob*

It was half a joke, but half true. At the risk of sounding like a huge nerd, MtG is all logic based. Every card essentially introduces several new "rules" and you have to keep track of how they interact with each other.
