No, you were right. I was referring to GI Bill benefits. I just wanted to continue confusing people as much as possible. I didn't think I'd get an apology out of it. HAHA. What a subtle way to say "Hey, I served for my country."
Hahah, I thought you were referring to your GI stuff. Excuse my misinterpretation of the joke.
Since I'm not working right now, my TLS game is so off. It's also pretty sad that I was getting paid to TLS.

I'll have you know, that I am currently funemployed and watching Good Morning America with a cup of coffe whilst TLS-ing. These three weeks of no job are the best weeks ever.
But yeah you're right...in three weeks I will be getting paid to TLS again haha.

I'm including my undergraduate debt as well as my future law school debt. Luckily I have a girlfriend who is willing to pay all of the COL bills for the next three years though. For those graduating with under 50k including UG and LS, how in the hell are you doing it?

In my case, UG was long enough ago that I paid off those debts already. Although, if you did tack on my remaining debt for my Masters on top of the anticipated debt for the JD, that would go over 50k.johnnyquest wrote:I'm including my undergraduate debt as well as my future law school debt. Undergrad was 20+ years ago, back when the grand total (including a victory lap) was something like $16k, so it's long since paid for. The Navy sent me to school for my master's on their dime, and law school tuition/fees will be covered by the GI Bill. Also getting ~$25k/year in housing allowance/stipend between the school and the GI Bill.johnnyquest wrote:I'm including my undergraduate debt as well as my future law school debt. There are also those who have spouse/SO who will work and cover a good part of the bills who make up a decent percent of studentslawschool22 wrote:Also wealthy parentals.koalacity wrote:Bunch of Ruby/Dillard/Mordecai recipieints, maybe? Re: TLS Class of 2017
80% scholly in UG, parents paid remainder plus COL those yrs. I've worked throughout since graduting high school (Full time summers and 15 hrs otherwise in various jobs). Other than getting engaged, normal college age drinking expenses, and car repairs I've been able to save some coin, because my COL besides those three extras have been covered. I've also been fortunate in the fact that my small investment account during college has done quite nicely and I've added to it over time. I'm just lucky I started in 2012.johnnyquest wrote:I'm including my undergraduate debt as well as my future law school debt. Continuing to work full time this summer to save up more.
Fully to LS, and parents willing to pay for books/fees/etc. I pretty much just gotta cover food and rent on my own (in a low COL city, mind you). So I'll be burning through my savings first year and hoping for a paid job next summer when I reach low funding. Rinse and repeat for 2L and 3L. My plan is to work as necessary (anytime other than during 1L) to stay afloat, lean on my SO some when they graduate UG, and end up with zero or neglible debt. Fingers crossed.

I have got to get a boyfriend w/ money who wants to cover my living expenses asap. My debt would be so much more manageable.klondike5 wrote: There are also those who have spouse/SO who will work and cover a good part of the bills who make up a decent percent of students

Marriage gets you some decent tax coverage depending on your situation. Not that you should marry for that reason alone. On the flip side I am sure this will have to balance out when they feel like taking a sabbatical or getting a masters. Still a good deal thoughKatyMarie wrote:I have got to get a boyfriend w/ money who wants to cover my living expenses asap. no undergrad debt thanks to a scholarship, choosing the lower ranked school with a higher scholarship, and a BF who is paying most of the living costs. Verryyyy lucky. Although I really hope I don't regret choosing the lower school over the top ones...johnnyquest wrote:I'm including my undergraduate debt as well as my future law school debt. Re: TLS Class of 2017
No UG debt for me either, but I'm doing the exact opposite... I chose the higher ranked school with no scholarship over a lower ranked school with money (where my BF will be headed for a PhD and probably would have paid the COL). Also hoping I don't regret that decision 10 years from now.wsparker wrote:no undergrad debt thanks to a scholarship, choosing the lower ranked school with a higher scholarship, and a BF who is paying most of the living costs. If your 1L grades end up being crappy, follow my plan and spend as much time during the next two years hanging at the med school, find an SO there, and profit.

Maybe I'm just bad with money lol. I had a scholarship for UG too about 75% and I worked, and I still graduated with 35k debt. I had no parental support though.wsparker wrote:no undergrad debt thanks to a scholarship, choosing the lower ranked school with a higher scholarship, and a BF who is paying most of the living costs. Don't feel bad bro, that's mainly the bolded. Less than 9k a year in debt ain't much during college these days.johnnyquest wrote:Maybe I'm just bad with money lol.
