Just an update: There's a new continuation of the show Boy Meets World on Disney and NYU Law alum Topanga is not only still a lawyer but also lives in the Village
I can't wait to run into her when I move in

Re: NYU Class of 2017 - Old Photos in OP!
Hi guys. Me and another NYU grad student (not in lawschool like us) just put down a deposit for a place in bushwick/east williamsburg in brooklyn. It is a pretty sweet place and what I picked after physically viewing like 12 places. It is a 3 BR/ 1BA apt a block or two from the L train Dekalb Ave station (also have access to the M train in the neighborhood). Safe neighborhood with a lot of restaurants and bars within walking distance...a lot of young people, artists, and murals over on jefferson. About 20 mins to e. village and 30 to the law school. Rent is only going to be 1k + utilities (probably like $50 each ??). It is on the top floor of a 3 floor building and we have access to the basement for laundry and for storage (for your bike).
PM me for address and pictures. Roommate and I already submitted our application for approval and we will be on lease, so this would be a sublet of the 3rd bedroom. It starts on Aug1st. We are looking for a chill, laidback, respectful, and clean guy who is interested preferably long term. It is 1st, last, and one month security deposit for move in, so we are looking to fill this asap to help us cover this amount.

applying for loans at studentloans.gov
does nyu tell us how much to apply for in grad plus loans
or do we just calculate it based off of estimated costs minus scholarships minus 20.5k in stafford

For those who have done the immunization paperwork: are NYU insisting my doc hand-sign their form or is signed paperwork produced by my doc's office good enough?

I confirmed with them that signed paperwork is fine, it doesn't have to be on their scantron form.BuddyHoller wrote:For those who have done the immunization paperwork: are NYU insisting my doc hand-sign their form or is signed paperwork produced by my doc's office good enough?

Thanks! I thought so but in retrospect my conversation with them was a bit ambiguous.Chekhov'sGun wrote:I confirmed with them that signed paperwork is fine, it doesn't have to be on their scantron form.BuddyHoller wrote:For those who have done the immunization paperwork: are NYU insisting my doc hand-sign their form or is signed paperwork produced by my doc's office good enough?

First class showed up on Albert: LAW-LW Section 001. No schedule or anything. Anyone else get the same thing?

Re: NYU Class of 2017 - Old Photos in OP!
NYU is apparently a very strange place in terms of their requirements, at least per my ugrad institution.
First, I went to my school to get the college questionnaire filled out. My school is a large state university and they absolutely refuse to fill out forms from other schools. They faxed their own form and NYU sent me email last week that my school MUST fill out the NYU form. What? So I had to go back to my school and wait 2 hours to meet with the director of student affairs to get a special exception to fill out the NYU form. Uhg.
Second, I went to my university health center and they said they don't sign any health form from another school. But, the NYU immunization form asks for a signature from my healthcare provider. I had to wait three hours to get the nurse practitioner to finally decide she could sign the form, after consulting with some insane number of people to find out if she was allowed.
Is NYU unusual in this regard? How can my school with 40,000+ students not occasionally have to fill out forms from other schools? It shouldn't be this hard. This is more a comment about my undergrad institution than NYU, but still.

Is anyone else who is coming fresh from undergrad have "Final Transcript Received from LSAC" unchecked even though your college/university sent LSAC your transcript already & LSAC says they updated it for NYU already?

Mine says the same. It would be awesome if it was a hint at which section we're in, but it's probably just a place holder. I'm guessing they wait until after the final confirmations are due in August to finalize the sections.checkers wrote:Not sure if you guys simplified, or if mine is more detailed: "LAW-LW 12115-001 LEC (24835)"

New fees have popped up on the bursar page. To get there go to http://albert.nyu.edu/, click on "Student Center," click on "View Bursar Acct," and finally select the "eBills" tab at the top. I haven't been able to find a description for any of these other than what their names imply.

Weird, mine doesn't show tuition, only housing fees for the semester
Does anyone else have a Bursar hold on their NYU Albert (right hand side of screen)?

Anyone have any idea what the "Law Prof Tuition" could refer to? Is this tuition or a fee?checkers wrote:New fees have popped up on the bursar page. Quick paranoid question -
After you accepted/declined your loan amounts in Albert, was there any kind of confirmation? My Albert page seems to be the same as it was before submitting, the To Do List just has FAFSA (which when clicking says received), and when I reclick on accept/deny loans all the same stuff is there, just with the check marks for what I accepted. I get so paranoid when there's not confirmation on this stuff, ha, so please excuse it.
Looking forward to meeting you all this in about a month! (Wow. About a month.)

I didn't receive any type of confirmation, the only thing that changed was the amounts under "accepted" in my "view financial aid summary".TheRealJoshuaLyman wrote:Quick paranoid question -

Where on Albert do you see the class listed? I don't have that or the tuition payment.

I have the same issue. Maybe it's something with WL admits? I spoke to the Bursar's office which said that the tuition is posted only once you're registered for classes (hence the above people getting tuition bills for the 1-2 credits they see on Albert). Maybe they're behind?vivala wrote:Where on Albert do you see the class listed? I don't have that or the tuition payment.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
