I'm a fan of the no electronics thing for 1L. Everyone is going to have the same handicap, and it is really really frustrating at least for me to be sitting in a few rows back and have a couple dozen screens of FB/ESPN/Youtube or whatever between me and the prof.

Have you guys considered sitting in the front row? Problem solved. (You're welcome.)

In the gunner section? No way, that's even worse.

Do we actually get assigned seating, or do they just make a note of where we chose to sit the first day of class and force us to sit there the rest of the year?

Is it "first come first serve" assigned seating or "prof picks" assigned seating?

Depends on the professor. Most of my 1L professors assigned seats.

I guess I figured it was going to be like this by default, so I had already mentally prepared myself.

Are any of the Section 6 Syllabi up yet? I looked for them but there are so many different sites/logins that IDK if I missed them.

ETA- none of my courses populated automatically on MyHLS, but if you search the courses individually you can find the leg reg syllabus. It doesn't look like any of the others are posted yet.

on MyHLS you can choose to "See a list of all HLS course sites" below the my courses box under the my courses tab. I just ctrl+f searched for the names of my classes.

Don't read that until after the semester starts. It's not written to be read by a 0L; it's writted to be read in September/October. It will make way more sense after your first two weeks of law school.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
