I was in the pre-Thanksgiving round of acceptances and I got one more email telling me how to setup my HLS email account and create a login for the admitted students website. It took them until 12/2 to send the second email. They also just sent out an email from the financial aid office basically telling everyone that you can't apply for financial aid until the middle of February.

Yeah they've sent the first wave a lot of different stuff. You guys might have to wait through break, but I'm sure they'll reach out to you soon. Also, make sure you fill out the survey on the accepted students site because they actually do follow up on it.

I am a long time lurker who finally decided that a Harvard admittance was worth coming out of the woodwork for! I was one of last Thursday's JS2ers and was wondering if anyone who has joined the facebook group could say how useful that has been. I would love to meet some of my fellow admits but, since I am in flyover country, digitally is probably the only way that is going to happen.

Has the facebook page been getting a lot of traffic? Is it worth joining?

Cograts to all of you! I feel like I already know you all from lurking on these boards for so long and I can't wait to meet some of you at ASW!

Yeah, I like the fb group. Not too much activity on it yet, but I assume there will be as it grows and ASW's get closer/happen. It seems like a good resource to connect.

Ditto. I'm fairly easy to identify with my WE and other info in my LSN. I'm going to try to figure out who some other TSLers are, but I don't think I've spent enough time here yet to pick up on writing styles haha.

Definitely join the FB group. When my join request was approved, it really made it feel more real.

Interesting! Hopefully I'll find someone who lives near me on the FB page then, once my request to join the group is approved. I would love to go out for drinks and gush about getting into Harvard with someone who understands the stress this cycle inflicts on poor applicants!

Have you guys been getting a ton of emails introducing you to x, y, or z person based on the admitted student survey you took? I can't quite tell if they are mass emails / if I should respond personally to all of them. Thoughts??

I haven't received them bc I didn't fill it out yet. So must be somewhat personalized.

They are personalized and worth responding to...I have had some great conversations with faculty already!

Mine was pretty personalized. She introduced me to someone who came from a similar undergrad and went straight to Harvard. The 3rd year she introduced me to has the same career interests as me and is involved in many groups I would be interested in participating in. I plan on emailing back today!

I imagine we'll just stick to arranging it on facebook, because I imagine there aren't NYC admits who are on TLS and not in the facebook group? In any case, once the dates are confirmed we can always post here and let any TLSers know what we decided.

Haha, I completely agree. I'll just be going about my day when all of a sudden I remember that I got into Harvard. It's a great feeling.

It maybe, could be possible that whenever I start getting frustrated/sad/annoyed I go back and re-read my acceptance email and grin non-stop for a few hours.....

For me, that's been part of the joy of rolling admissions. Just as I was sorta kinda getting comfortable with the idea of HLS (I got accepted just before Thanksgiving), the next round of decisions came through, and I got reminded of how great and unique an opportunity this is and how easily I could be in a different situation.

We're all so lucky!

I likewise enjoy checking in on this forum or occasionally flipping through my acceptance package. My wife has said that she's never seen me more relaxed than I've been in the past month.
