Did anybody else get any need-based aid? I just got an email from UT about 30 min ago.

Not yet, but I had to amend my tax returns. Le sigh

I haven't gotten anything. Is the need-based different from the grants given out? I'm out-of-state, which may affect both, but I'm over the age where my parents can claim me and make a ridiculously low amount of money, but I still wouldn't expect anything from need-based. I would be interested in what qualifies someone for need-based aid, though.

On the FB page, Dean Ingram said that the need-based aid packages were being finalized and should start going out en masse next week. Sounds like yours was one of the first, but we should all start seeing them shortly.

I have been waiting to submit my scholarship matching request until Vanderbilt sends out their "Law Scholars" full ride scholarships. I kind of doubt that I will get one, but it seems possible as I am among the group that received the highest scholarship that they have offered so far. They are just taking forever to send them out. Would you all just submit the request with what I have now or wait it out a little longer?

With that "one shot" proposal they keep trumping up, I'd wait. But then again, it seems awfully late for Vanderbilt to send out full schollys. It's almost April. IF they waited this long, a good number of the people that would supposedly be eligible could have potentially withdrawn by now.

I got a grant and I'm out of state. My grant was in-state tuition + 10k, so maybe people were saying that they were granted in-state tuition even though they're out of state, and that could make it sound like only in-state people were getting grants?

Unless you got your loans with your offer and got it within the past few days, it was just merit.

Need based packaging comes with loan amounts.

Hmm...mine came a couple days ago with loan amounts. I never got a separate scholarship notification, just the email saying my FAN was ready, and when I viewed it, it listed amounts I'm eligible to take out in loans along with a scholarship amount.

The estimated tuition and fees are the same. Idk if that is still subject to change.
