I did, I wrote a completely seperate why Harvard essay from my PS. It was 1 page and it was mentioned in my JS1.chizzy wrote:just curious. did any of you admits write a "Why harvard" statement? i'm rounding out my application and was wondering if that was necessary.

I considered it, but I didn't. The advice I got pretty much was "Why X" statements are unnecessary for the T6 and definitely the T3. I don't think it would hurt though (unless if it's poorly written or a really ridiculous reason like you love the bars in Cambridgechizzy wrote:just curious. did any of you admits write a "Why harvard" statement? i'm rounding out my application and was wondering if that was necessary.

haha. im just really interested in some of the clinics and programs and thats what i wanted to emphasize in the "Why X" statement for schools.wtrc wrote:I considered it, but I didn't. Although I do hear the bar scene is pretty good. I guess we'll have to test it out

Re: Harvard Class of 2017
In my JS1, I talked about my interest in the law and business specialty track and I think they really liked that. As long as talking about the clinic or program doesn't dilute the other strong points in your essay(s), I think that it can only help.chizzy wrote:haha. im just really interested in some of the clinics and programs and thats what i wanted to emphasize in the "Why X" statement for schools.wtrc wrote:I considered it, but I didn't. Yeah, I didn't either. Can't imagine it hurting but I think it came through in my dual degree statement and my PS so I thought it was unnecessary.chizzy wrote:thanks!lastsamurai wrote:I only added my diversity statement. I didn't write Why Harvard, but did mention some specific programs I'm interested in during my interview, fwiw.chizzy wrote:haha. im just really interested in some of the clinics and programs and thats what i wanted to emphasize in the "Why X" statement for schools.wtrc wrote:I considered it, but I didn't. Would be shocked if I got into the PhD program at Harvard, so may have to do some weird JD there, PhD somewhere else. When do you hear about the MBA program?
