Trying to figure out how to do housing. Either I'm just dumb or their page isn't very intuitive at all. Do you just get randomly assigned an apartment with someone? Like ideally I'd like to be with someone who enjoys things I like, like alcohol mostly.

The worst is that people have them in their apartment and don't say anything to the rest of the building. bedbugs don't discriminate, to them there are no apartments, just one big feeding ground. So people often kill them in their own place, only to have them go somewhere else, and a vicious cycle begins. It's a general NYC problem, but much more noted in the poorer areas.

That's crazy. I don't think I've ever met anyone who's seen bed bugs before, though I always hear about someone who knows someone ect. My sister lives in flushing also

Hey guys -- just checking in. I got my financial award today. I am grateful to have gotten any scholarship, but I am just not sure that it will be enough. It's so late in the game and I am supposed to deposit soon. I am feeling a bit overwhelmed. I don't have leverage from any peer schools yet, but might have some next week. Does anyone know if NYU ever postpones deposits to mid-May or June?

Is there a delay between depositing and receiving out net ID? I think the housing app said that we need that before we can register.

I think the website said that it could take up to 3 days. I deposited Friday and haven't received mine yet.

If you go to the ASW, "keeping connected", and the part for university Id there's three possibilities:

1. Completely blank for name/id
2. Your name filled in. This means they've received your deposit. This is supposed to take up to 10 business days (took 12 for me ...).
3. Name/ID filled in. This can take up to 3 days after deposit is acknowledged.

I'm not sure its too tough since it should tell you exactly what to send on FAAPS.

For me, I had to submit tax returns for me and parent.

So I have a bit of a predicament. Another school has pushed their deposit deadline back for me since they have yet to make a decision on my financial aid. I won't hear back from them before NYU's deadline on Friday, and I feel calling the school and asking them for an extension just makes me look like a terrible person. I'm guessing I need to suck it up and risk the $600 deposit, but does anybody have any experience with requesting an extension?

It's looking like I'm going to request an extension also. A bit of research indicates that they've been pretty unresponsive to the idea so far.

Do it! Say you'd really like to attend but are awaiting financial information to make the most informed decision. Worst that happens is they won't budge, in which case you just risk the $600 deposit.

FWIW I have not had the need to ask for one now, but it worked when i asked NU for an extension back in March (their AJD deadline was super early).
