Idk, my commutes have been pretty consistent. Most of the delays I encounter are short "train is being held by the dispatcher" deals, those are pretty manageable. I guess it depends on the particulars. I live off of the 7; when I get to the Main St station I'm in Manhattan 30 minutes later reliably. If I miss a train, another one leaves a in a few minutes, and the line is two tracks in each direction, so even if a train stalls on the tracks ahead of us, I'm not going to be stranded on the tracks for an hour.
