Well speak of the devil, just got my aid award now, although it is a little underwhelming.. 50k.

I've got the Dillard and at least 100k at Penn (talking with finaid about a Levy), is it worth even pursuing/appealing?

How much more do you think I could get them up? They seem to be pretty stingy so far based on other peoples responses

Penn is a 'peer school' so I think they might be receptive to your appeal.

I'd say 100k would be good leverage for increasing a 50k offer from a peer school, but you're dealing with NYU here.

It's definitely true for NYU undergrad so I wouldn't be surprised if it were true for NYU Law as well. I think the only program that is reasonably endowed is Stern, the business school.

Just got my financial aid package. Not glad about it.
Is this too late for me to argue for more $$?

I will sit a year and reapply if I can't get more money. Is reapplying to NYU gonna have some negative influence on my admission? I'll be trying to increase my LSAT and change my PS and add some recommenders, but do you think there is a chance that NYU will just not admit me when I reapply?

It's a mix of not being well endowed and a desire to buy more and more to make up for its inferiority complex.

Why's that impressive? Many of your (our, if you're going to NYU?) class mates will have turned down HYS too, and hopefully, will not have looked back.

One thing thats a bummer: I really loved the water bottle they gave me at HLS ASW but now I can't use it without it being weird
