tyia!
They'll send you the documents and then you have a few days to return them, so its not instant, but you don't have a ton of time to just sit on a selection either.
But most importantly, as soon as you select an apartment from the currently available list, you are permanently booted from your view/selection window.
Even if you cancel and don't end up signing the lease for the apartment you've selected, you're limited to only being able to view and choose apartments from the currently available list.
Other interesting thing: you can pay your first month's rent with a credit card, which I highly recommend doing for earning cashback/travel points.

I had my selection window today for HUH. Opened at 6:05 AM.
There were only a few 2 BR's available near the law school. By 6:06, they were gone. Not much else available either. Don't count on HUH - I had the first selection window and got nothing.

For those of you who have already sent in things such as certifications, transcripts, etc. about how long did it take them to update as received? One of my two UGs is notoriously bad about sending transcripts in a timely manner and I was just wondering how long to wait before I start pestering people.

I have the same issue and called HLS a few days ago. They said they won't start reviewing the certs and transcripts for a few weeks, so it's not that they haven't received it, but they do the review in bulk. They also said that some universities send all of their files over at once rather than individually. HTH!

Grrrr, stayed up til 1am here (because of time difference) and logged on housing applications to get a shot at what Gropius rooms remained but they're gone. All gone. #68 on waitlist.

For those of you who are looking for HUH apartments but didn't get the e-mail, the HLS blocks in Terry and Garden are gone.
There's a daily update for availabilities in HUH buildings that can be found
here.

Has anyone dealt with the University Health department yet? I cannot get them to return any of my calls or emails. Granted my question is a little specific, but still.

The front staff has been very pleasant, just zero follow through on actually answering my questions.

can those of us who missed the deadline not yet sign up through self select? or is this just beyond my tiny brain? whenever i go in, there is nothing to view, even though the directory horsethief posted earlier shows plenty of available properties...

No, there list I posted shows available units for next year, but they're still doing room draw to get those rooms. If those units last until June you might be able to get one with self select.
The stuff that appears in the self select window right now will be units that have an early starting least date. Ie yesterday I saw a studio in Garden up there with a least of 5/31 or something like that.

Also, if any of you are interested in doing research over the summer, keep an eye out here:
http://blogs.law.harvard.edu/adup/
Profs are posting requests, and while current students probably have an advantage, you might have a shot if you have some expertise in a specific field.

How long has it taken most people to have their web forms show as received? Should I just resubmit a form at a certain point?

The financial web forms? If its been over a week I would probably contact them. I had a couple that took at least that long before they popped up, but my entire package was complicated.
