Still waiting on an appeal decision... Requested an extension yesterday.

I know people are curious about what to expect with regards to the scholarship appeal. I recently got an increased offer. I was originally offered 37.5k and it was upped to 50k. I submitted a full tuition scholarship to UVA as leverage. So..take that as you will I guess. (Sorry for any typos, I'm writing this on my phone).

Haha, I know. Also, I asked to appeal a little while ago and had a fairly quick turnaround, so I imagine the people waiting will hear back soon. Do you think it might be possible to somehow negotiate more? NYU would be incredible, but not at this cost. I'm thinking about double depositing, but I see NYU doesn't allow that which is a problem in that I wouldn't really be able to negotiate then...

I really hope you take UVA EVEN if NYU upped their offer to 75k.

Oh, it's not even close. I guess I'm just hoping for a miracle where it rains scholarship $ from NYU. I prefer NYU, but I'm not irrational.

Withdrawing from NYU

. NYU is an amazing school and by far the hardest for me to withdraw from. Good luck to everyone here, and I'm glad at least I can open up ~$100k for FF, BOM, LS22 and everyone else trying to negotiate.

. To be fair, my numbers aren't mindblowing for NYU. I think I fell into a sweetspot at UVA where they just hand out $. From my experience this cycle, it really seems like CCN doesn't take lower mid-lower top 14 offers very seriously. Small increases at 2 of them, but they were already $100,000+ more expensive.

I got an extension to May 2nd somehow. Just emailed them saying I was waiting on Columbia's aid and planning to appeal shortly and they gave it to me. Definitely no harm in asking for an extra two weeks.
