Orientation: Tuesday, August 26th – Friday, August 29th. Pretty sure it's mandatory.

Based on past years, yep, at least a couple days of it will be mandatory.

These are just preliminary apps, the more detailed lease type stuff comes later.

HUH is very competitive, apparently. I don't think the dorms are.

Gropius is easy during 1L. They only let a certain number of 2Ls and 3Ls live in on-campus housing (it's a lottery for 200 spots; everyone else goes on the waitlist).

Basically, after 1L they kick you out and make you find your own place.

I specifically asked the SFS office about this at ASW. The guy I talked to said that we can start making payments to the loan company whenever we want and that it won't affect the financial aid package. I assume he wasn't lying to me.

Idk if anyone has pointed this out, but as the c/o 2017 we will be graduating exactly 200 years after HLS was founded. More historical updates as my readings warrant.

While that's pretty cool, tbf all that pregnancy and meaning is diluted because schools just use centennials and bicentennials (and sometimes even sesquicentennials!) as elaborate excuses to fundraise.

I doubt that we as students will be the first targets of that fundraising, although we might be the first beneficiaries (if there are any).

Does anyone know how strict HLS is on the last semester of undergrad GPA. I realize they "expect you to keep the same academic standards they admitted you under," but do they enforce this at all?

You'll be fine, excluding some catastrophic failure. Most of the time when people ask this question their GPA has dropped nowhere near enough to even raise an eyebrow.

Yeah, I'd be less concerned about the 2.8 itself and more on the effect on your overall GPA. I don't personally know anyone who actually had an offer rescinded due to grades, but they put that in there just to keep the possibility open. I still wouldn't worry that much (unless you already had a low GPA for HLS), just be prepared to explain the drop if they ask.
