Re: Harvard Class of 2017
I'm going to start looking into housing more this week. I'll probably aim for something off campus but I could see myself living in North. I'm pretty much down for anything that isn't Gropius.

I know HLS doesn't have a deposit deadline but do they have an "accept" deadline? Is it May 1st? I'm at work and don't have any of the letters they sent me.

In case you lost the hard copy form, and it's probably easier anyway: this form can be submitted online on the admitted students site.HorseThief wrote:Yes, by May 1st.Pneumonia wrote:I know HLS doesn't have a deposit deadline but do they have an "accept" deadline? You should contact them. They may have sent correspondence that you never noticed. This happened to me when they sent my dad an e-mail and I didn't find out until much later.Pneumonia wrote:when did you get the "complete" email? Using LS22's COA calculator and it's making me feel depressed.

for real.paglababa wrote:Using LS22's COA calculator and it's making me feel depressed.
Btw, I called finaid and they sent me my offer pretty soon after. Turns out that it had gotten lost in transit or something and so I never got an email about it being finalized. Just a heads up to anyone who has been waiting more than 3 weeks or so since getting the "complete and ready for review" email- it might be worth emailing or checking in. 3 weeks is probably the earliest though.

Re: Harvard Class of 2017
Just remember that that's the absolute worst case scenario. You're likely to not take out and spend all of the COL loans that you have access to and you hopefully have some form of financial aid or family support. There is almost nobody who comes out of HLS with $250k+ in debt with no kind of financial safety net.paglababa wrote:Using LS22's COA calculator and it's making me feel depressed.
And even if you end up broke because of law school, girls will still date you because you went to HLS

does anyone know the deal with this base loan? i know we HAVE to take it to get our grant, but if we don't end up needing all of it, can we make payments toward the loan w/ the excess?

Interested in this too. I assume we can pay back whatever portion of loan whenever we want and the only thing that will suck is loan origination fees?wealtheow wrote:does anyone know the deal with this base loan? i know we HAVE to take it to get our grant, but if we don't end up needing all of it, can we make payments toward the loan w/ the excess?

^ is an excellent question (even though it's probably wishful thinking for me; I will almost certainly end up needing all of itwealtheow wrote:does anyone know the deal with this base loan? i know we HAVE to take it to get our grant, but if we don't end up needing all of it, can we make payments toward the loan w/ the excess?
