Yeah the key is another law school that awards only need-based aid, I think. So that means just Yale or Stanford. My understanding is that they are pretty good about upping your offer if you get money from the other two, which can happen a lot because one doesn't count your house and the other doesn't count whatever else in their formulas so it gets different (often better) results.

So bummed I won't make it to ASW

And I planned my visit to Penn and NYU a few days before I got into Harvard, so now I don't know if I'll be able to make it to Cambridge before making a decision

On the bright side, I feel like Penn and NYU are the schools that need to sell me at this point. An enlightening visit and a full (or near full) scholarship from either would certainly earn them serious consideration against Harvard for me. Not gonna lie though, I am heavily leaning to the north as of now

Don't plan to meet new people at Carrie Nation, it's loud as hell: meet them during the day events. Best use of free time is drinking at night with people you' met during the day. If you ask Dean Minow what justice is during her Q&A I will buy you a beer or three at orientation. Don't use the phrase "JS1" when talking to professors. Tear it up. hth

Don't feel like sitting in on a class is a necessary part of the ASW experience. Any variance you see between classes will reflect a hundred times more on which professor was teaching than on which law school you were visiting.

If you don't have anything else to do, by all means sit in on a class. Otherwise find something to explore.
