Not sure if I'm late to this or not, but all the dates and times for the various orientation social events are up on the orientation website.

What type of photo are you guys submitting for the IDs? professional career photos? And what do they mean when by "facebook picture" (referring to the email they sent out today)?
Also, how do we certify the completion of CBT? every time I click on it on lawnet it takes me back to the columbia page to watch the videos. I've already watched all of them

hmm maybe by 'facebook' they mean a CLS photo directory?theoutpostmhs wrote:What type of photo are you guys submitting for the IDs? professional career photos? And what do they mean when by "facebook picture" (referring to the email they sent out today)?

re CBT, that's strange that you keep getting redirected to the videos.. i think i was successful in making the system understand i'd 'watched' the videos.. maybe it's just a glitch? also, i think the only reason you 'have to' do the CBT 'training' is so you don't have to do a CBT session during orientation. if you can't get it to work by then, it seems reasonable to assume you'd be able to explain that to the IT people running the workshop / session and you'll be scot-free?

Re: Columbia Class of 2017
sweet! i'm going to try to set something up on the 8th -- thinking a very casual dinner / happy hour would be fun! i'll be sure to post details in the thread and also the facebook group when i figure things outEirinnGoBrach wrote:I'll be moving in on the 8th and would love to meet up with people. I'm also doing the community service day on the 14th
eta: or would people prefer a TLS meetup first? upon further deliberation, inviting the whole facebook c/o 2017 might yield like, 50 people, which could be overwhelming. and it would be cool to put some TLS usernames to faces! but inviting the whole fb group could also be really fun -- and i'm sure more than half of them lurk this thread hardcore anyway lol. please let me know what you all think!
right now, i'm thinking the 'dam, it's centrally located-ish on amsterdam between 109&110th, and has a solid food menu. another contender is amsterdam tavern, which also looks good but it's located five blocks further down, which could make it that much more inconvenient for people living further uptown, though i suppose five blocks won't make much of a difference. (i'm taking lion's head tavern out of the running because it serves only dive-bar food, and it'll be nice to have more options for a larger group. please take a look at menus / websites -- i'm definitely open to (more) suggestions.
i know i'm jumping the gun here by a couple weeks, but i'm really pumped to move in / meet u ppl / do this! i'm trying to think whether i should reach out to the 'dam / amsterdam tavern for group pricing, but this also probably means the food will be more catered? would it be pricier per person? and people will probably prefer to order a la carte? aaaaaanyways i'm trying to get a head count -- that's the key first step to planning this haha. who's in??

really cool of you to be setting that up, trap, but the 8th is too early for me. I'd be down for getting some drinks, clean and simple, with anybody from TLS who wants to though...probably orchestrate that via PMing. Figure CLS has plenty of events, dinners, and happy hours where the whole class can mingle.

I should be in the city by the 6th so I'm down as well. My vote is for Amsterdam Tavern, but either looks fun.

I'm in for the meet-up! I have no preference for which place you choose, because I'm just going to imbibe anyway.

ah i'm so sorry, but i have plans all day on the 9th, which is why i decided on the 8th. i'm sure, though, that many of the people who come out on the 8th will be more than happy to meet up the next day for drinks!EquallyWrong wrote:really cool of you to be setting that up, trap, but the 8th is too early for me. i'm going to reach out to both venues and see if one place can give us better deals than the other. will report backFOM wrote:I should be in the city by the 6th so I'm down as well. My vote is for Amsterdam Tavern, but either looks fun.

the dam is very small, so we would have to opt for a smaller group.
