I couldn't find the deadline or the image size requirements on Freshlaw - just a submission link. The deadline I got came in the mail with my acceptance package, but the March 1st deadline might have just been for ED admits (although I don't know why that would make a difference).Will_McAvoy wrote:Huh? I could have sworn freshlaw said July.

I might have missed this -- if they didn't offer you a stipend specifically in an email, you won't get one upon request, right?

Have you guys been getting an email from a new alumni like every other day? Not sure if I should even reply to some of them since they are mass emails

I got an email from an alum who deals in real estate law (supposedly because I put that down as one of my interests at some point, although I don't remember doing it.) So far, he's been the only one.Mojosodope wrote:Have you guys been getting an email from a new alumni like every other day? Not sure if I should even reply to some of them since they are mass emails

Hey guys, didn't apply here earlier but was sent an email with a fee waiver and soliciting my application so figured why not, hoping for some good news. For a super splitter like myself, it's kind of a crapshoot so I'm sticking with the spray and pray style of applying. Best of luck to all!

Yeah I've had a few contact me, two of which have asked me to give them a call. I would encourage you to take them up on the offer, if they do. One has really given me a ton of advice, and gave me contacts for friends of his who went to other schools I'm considering. I'll admit I think what has drawn the guy to offer so much help is the fact that we have a ton (really surprising amount) of things in common.Mojosodope wrote:Have you guys been getting an email from a new alumni like every other day? I actually deposited today, so it's about as official as it gets. Look forward to meeting you all soon! Hook em

I've had one reach out to me, and I've reached out to a few I know.
The one and I had a schedule to call, and he never called

Regarding the picture: I just uploaded one, it seemed to not be an issue.

I remember reading somewhere that rankings matter for the scholarship matching program. Anyone know if UT is willing to match schools ranked 16-20?

This will depend on how desperate they are to get you. I have seen them reject a matching offer from a school and then later in the cycle significantly increase after the other school gave a huge bump. I doubt they'll actually "match" any of them though.str8yolked wrote:I remember reading somewhere that rankings matter for the scholarship matching program. Austin rental price especially the ones around UT soared during the past few years. As a returning Longhorn I found the new price hard to swallow...dang it..

Posted this over in the Acceptance/Denial/WL thread, but thought I may miss some of you guys over here.
Looking to book hotels for the March 20/21 ASW, and wanted to see if you guys are staying both Thursday and Friday night? I was contemplating saving a few shekels and heading out of town after the social event Friday afternoon, but the lure of partying in Austin on Friday night is strong...

What exactly are you afraid they might dress like?

Na, not afraid, just read that people there for SXSW were "sticking out" and looking like they were from the east coast. Which is why I was curious, because I didn't think people on the east coast dressed any particular way.BigZuck wrote:Ok. I've literally worn everything from sweatpants and a hoodie to a full suit to class. No one cares.

I notice people wearing suits (it's obvious, but clearly it's for an interview or something like that so whatevs. Most people have to do it every once in a while). Never noticed anyone wearing sweats but I approve of that choice.

Does anyone still have it saying "Photo not Submitted" yet you open it and there is the photo that you uploaded?

Any other out of staters hanging around Austin this weekend after the ASP? Feel free to PM me if you want to get a beer

Not an out of stater, and I have some birthday weekend plans saturday until the evening. I would gladly be down to join people for drinks after ASW if y'all are still in town.Will_McAvoy wrote:Any other out of staters hanging around Austin this weekend after the ASP? And now, how will we identify one another at ASW? We had a TLS group at the WUSTL ASW and it was nice not being the random kid who was always alone. Having a group ahead of time made socializing and such nice.

Didn't mean to exclude, just assumed locals would be more inclined to have other plans.Attax wrote:Not an out of stater, and I have some birthday weekend plans saturday until the evening. Unfortunately, I won't be getting into town until closer to midnight on Friday, but I'm sticking around for a few days. If we want to get a group together for drinks on Saturday, that'd be cool!

Re: Texas Class of 2017
I can't make it down until the first week of April, otherwise I'd be down to get a group together. I'll be visiting on a non Accepted Students Day so I'll inevitably be a loner on campus, haha.

On the Financial Aid portion of UT's website (link here) it shows different tuition rates for 1Ls and for continuing students, so wouldn't that mean tuition HAS increased in the last 3 years?Monica Ingram wrote: FYI, we're waiting to hear back on 2014 tuition proposals...we have a 85% chance of not having the law school's tuition increased for the third straight year. I'll keep you posted. We should know a little more by April 1.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
