are most of you on this thread pretty much decided on attending NYU next year?

I'm pretty stuck between CLS and NYU at the moment, with UVA ($$) and Mich ($$) still in consideration. Leaning CLS right now but some $ from NYU could definitely change that.

Anyone know some current 1L's that can speak to this? I'm still super apprehensive about the whole twin bed/treated like a child thing, but I can see how it would be convenient to be around so many other people in your same situation. Any candid stories of living in the law school dorms would be much appreciated.

I have three friends at NYU that are living or have lived in the dorms and highly recommended it. You're busy during 1L, so proximity to class and the campus gym, etc goes a long way. Also they have a lot of pregames and social events at the dorms on the weekends. While the twin beds aren't optimal, they said that there aren't really strict rules and you aren't treated like an undergrad.

Right now, I'm about 80% leaning towards NYU, though I haven't gotten $ offers from Chicago or Columbia yet (or NYU for that reason), nor heard from HS. So make that an 80% with huge caveats.

+1 to being stuck between CLS and NYU... I'm pretty sure they are actually the same school. Although at the moment I'm leaning towards NYU because I haven't heard back about $$ from Columbia and I'm pretty happy with my scholly from NYU

anyone here disappointed that Martin Lipton had other things to do that morning so he couldn't be on the panel?

can someone remind me what the Cravath partner's answer was? is the girl who asked the question ITT, since she probably paid the most attention?

I vaguely recall some of hte other panelists saying they want interesting people outside of the law (like the DPW guy who was there for 35 years). But I met other partners that weekend and I might be getting things confused.

So basically.

1. Love the law (Cravath)

At first I thought you wanted to know Cravath guy's name(Evan?). He wanted to know that people were passionate about the law. He (or someone else) wanted people to be on law review. The old(est) guy doesn't want to talk about law in interviews. Other people wanted you to just be interesting and mature.

In the later career panel the Latham partner wanted people who were quirky.

Congrats to all the scholarship recipients today!

I got my RTK rejection email at about 5. Was very much a "no shit, sherlock" moment. I'm hoping they offer me at least a little something, because I fell in love with the damn school at ASW and I really want them to give me a reason to pick it.

Don't most people who interview for the named scholarships end up with fairly decent aid numbers even if they aren't selected?

as Nonconsecutive said, they know you want to do PI and they realize you are sacrificing a lot of earning potential for that so I can't imagine why you wouldn't get a big scholly from NYU!

OTOH, I just sent in my contract for the RTK and now I have to remind myself not to have any changes of heart between now and 2027....

Not yet... they told me it would be by today so naturally I'm just going to waste battery on all of my electronics by refreshing constantly. Has anyone else heard?

Wording varies from place to place. One email made it seem like notification by Monday with reply required by Wednesday. Some materials on the web said scholarship winners should be prepared to respond within 48 hours of offer (whenever that is) and AS EARLY AS Wednesday.

So anyway! Soon enough. Just curious about what others have heard. I assume they're focused on offering to especially high LSAT/GPA folks yesterday and today. Good luck errbody.
