If anyone is wondering why this is the case, CR is that bbkk is actually fourth in line to succeed to the throne of Brunei.bbkk wrote:neprep wrote:Oh by scholarship I just meant my $$ package, nothing special / named. Financial aid package came today and I'm really quite pleased with the amount of grant they've offered me. I've never been so happy that my family is dirt poor.

Having a hard time finding this even though I know bunch of people asked about ASW waivers and TCR was that you fill out the same waiver you did for your app waiver. I didn't ask for the app waiver back when I was applying. Is there a link somewhere that I can download this waiver form? would love to defray some hotel costs....

Yeah, invite link was in the acceptance email. Takes 1-4 days to get approved though.bbkk wrote:btw, is everybody ITT also in the fb HLS Class of 2017 group? I never got an invite or anything like that..

Re: Harvard Class of 2017
I can confirm this--I emailed that address asking for an ASW waiver, and they just responded with the application fee waiver form. It's pretty short, but obnoxious nonetheless.... I wonder what their cutoffs are, i'm debating even submitting it. I wonder mostly if they consider cost of living in your area. Like $50k income in LA v. $50k in Montana.bbkk wrote:Maybe you can email them? I metup with some TLS people but I'm hoping no one remembers what my TLS handle was due to the alcohol. I know I certainly can't match faces to the handles except for 1-2 people.bbkk wrote:oh just saw that..but it's not an invitation; just a link to the group page. Just received my grant info for next year (Harvard doesn't provide 3-year estimates like other schools, right?). It's nice to have some money, but I'm left wondering if it'll increase next year because of my fathers recent retirement.
Also, every time I see that $81,900 estimate I go into shock

Yep, its per year. You will complete the grant application again for each year at HLS.jaesonko wrote:Just received my grant info for next year (Harvard doesn't provide 3-year estimates like other schools, right?). Does anyone know how Harvard changes their metrics if your parents retire while you're in law school? Are you likely to get more money?

Re: Harvard Class of 2017
So on the additional information portion of my app, I noted that my father had retired recently. Now the personalized message that I received with my grant said something to the effect of 'we know your family's circumstances have/will change and we've tried to consider that and will again reconsider our grant once you have some solid figures after they file taxes next year.'whippersnappery wrote:Does anyone know how Harvard changes their metrics if your parents retire while you're in law school? Haven't received my package yet, but I'm not expecting much. I've never been so upset that my family is decently well off (not enough to afford law school, though)heythatslife wrote:Financial aid package came today and I'm really quite pleased with the amount of grant they've offered me. Just received my aid package as well and it was a reality check. I still love Harvard and haven't written it off but the happy buzz from ASW is definitely wearing off now.baloneydanza wrote:Haven't received my package yet, but I'm not expecting much.
