For sure! I guess we won't really know until we get there unless someone wants to ask after the deposit deadline. There are about 170 people in the Facebook group but some are employees of Wake and some are 1/2/3ls to try and get room mates lol.AT9 wrote:Damn! 120 would have been better. Though I guess 10 over their goal isn't horrible.cricketlove00 wrote:No I definitely meant 170. I don't know what I was thinking.Shirosham wrote:120??? Last time I talked with them they said 170-180 I thought, though I was exhausted and may have heard incorrectly.
On a side note, anyone looking for roommates?

Who is going to House Hunt next week? As a current law student I will be crashing your breakfast, giving less than solid advice, and trying to find out who the black sheep are. PM me, because I will most likely be having a BBQ at my house on that Saturday with some 2Ls and 3Ls in attendance.

Is anyone still looking for housing for the upcoming year?
We may have a condo opening up in Aspen Park condos, which are only a 5 minute walk from the law school.

Does anyone have any idea where to pay the deposit on DEAC?
EDIT: Student services told me that you can go ahead and pay the deposit into the tuition bill instead of clicking on "WFU Deposit"

Got my aid package on Friday as well. Also found a place in Winston-Salem over the past weekend at Hunt Club north of campus.

Heard from the office of admissions that target enrollment is 180. Right now, they have WAY MORE than that. They did say they will make sure it's no more than 45 per section as their classrooms don't fit more than that.

Me too. But the email this morning did state that "Wake Forest is fully committed to ensuring our small class sizes and collegial environment even if enrollment inadvertently increases."cricketlove00 wrote:This makes me nervous.frogcandi26 wrote:Heard from the office of admissions that target enrollment is 180. True. The Deans seem like they have a handle on things. Was hoping for $$$ increase but I doubt that's happening now.frogcandi26 wrote:Me too. Wat. A couple years of larger class sizes and the crummy job stats are not making me feel very warm and fuzzy about picking Wake over a few of my other options right now.frogcandi26 wrote:Heard from the office of admissions that target enrollment is 180. Yep! The place seemed decent enough, just hope the appearances weren't deceiving.cricketlove00 wrote:Sounds like things are coming together for youAT9 wrote:Got my aid package on Friday as well. Also found a place in Winston-Salem over the past weekend at Hunt Club north of campus.

Re: Wake Forest Law Class of 2017
Hi All,
My first post on TLS. I hope I'm posting in the right topic (as opposed to the "where to go to school" forums).
I visited Wake and loved the school because of its small classes sizes and approachability. However, I have a lingering question or two for those of you who are familiar with Winston Salem or Wake: What is it like at the school and in town for those who identify as queer? I've heard mixed reviews and read about the vandalism over the past couple of years on the undergrad campus. Its very important for me to be in a place where I feel comfortable and able to talk about LGBT issues at school/ in class. Wake is incredibly tempting because of the scholarship/rank of the school, but I'm concerned about the environment.
I'm trying to decide between IU: Bloomington (about $100K total), Wake (about $60K total) and University of Kentucky (about $57K total). IU is appealing because of how accepting Bloomington seems and the LGBT-focused extracurriculars, but considering I'm not super interested in BigLaw, the debt already feels crushing. I'd appreciate your thoughts!
Thanks!!

Btw I identify as gay. It was important to me to feel comfortable at the school I was going to. If you want, you can PM me and I'll try to help you as best I can. In the meantime, go ahead and email their Outlaw group to hear it straight from the horses mouth.
