NYC here as well! And car, wow I didn't think it would take 30 min to get from those areas to campus. Looks really close on the map. I like the area too from what I can see on Google.

how did everyone get their log in information for the accepted students site? Does it come in the welcome package or via email?

It came via email soon after being admitted.

Well, I suppose 30 min would be the most it would take. Depending on where you are exactly, it could be a 20 min walk, even less if you're a fast walker. Rittenhouse Square is a beautiful neighborhood. It's pricey, though not nearly as ridiculous as NYC rents. It'd definitely be worth looking into apartments anywhere between Rittenhouse and the Schuylkill River.

I do have a question that you all may be able to answer. I know Penn's website and all the materials they send out put a heavy emphasis on public service and their LRAP is excellent. Why, then, do so few Penn grads go into PI?

I just got it now! Any idea on the odds of actually receiving the scholarship or how long the essay is supposed to be? The email says a brief essay...I am thinking around one page?

Four essay options with no word limit, but they "encourage brevity." Same question as those James Wilson candidates, how long should the essay be?

From website: "The James Wilson Scholarship provides awards ranging from $60,000 to $75,000 in tuition coverage. James Wilson, signer of the Declaration of Independence, architect of the Constitution, and one of the original justices of the United States Supreme Court, was Penn’s first professor of law. Our selection committee seeks accomplished individuals who embody the pioneering spirit and leadership of James Wilson, and who will be fully engaged in the unique academic community at Penn Law."

So $20-25k/year instead of full tuition, like the Levy.

No, haven't submitted any financial aid info yet. Like you said - I'm 173, 3.9ish. No idea about the selection process, email just says that there are a select number of 'exceptional applicants' chosen to apply for the Levy. Maybe they got the wrong guy... ha.

Edit: From LSN last year, looks like Levy range is definitely 170+, 3.9+.

Thanks! And to your question - yeah, I would definitely give a hard look at attending Penn with the Levy (or any top 14 with full tuition) over H. Not sure what I would do yet, but financial concerns are a significant factor for me. I'm just hoping to have that option at this point, though.

Congrats Carolina! I'm 174, 3.9x and I'm not sure yet what I would do, but I would definitely give any full-ride scholarship consideration and visit the schools before making a decision.

Agreed. Everyone's pushing me to take H but I would DEF consider a full ride at t14. But I'm not in a situation where I even have to make that decision yet... I know I don't have the #s for the Hamilton so really hoping for something from a t14 that would give it out to a lower 170s lsat score.
