My friend got a phone call with Noah Feldman (one of those "let me tell you why Harvard" calls) because they have common interests. SO INSANELY JEALOUS
Is there a reason TLS loves him? No pic :/
My preliminary favorite (without meeting any of them) is Guhan Subramanian.
I don't think this is exclusive to TLS. Pretty much the whole world loves him.
That being said, Guhan Subramanian seemed like a cool guy, and more importantly, he is wayy more pertinent to my interests. I will definitely want to take classes with him.

lol'ed at this.
Guhan Subramanian is 180. I would be thrilled to take his classes.

I am surprised (though I probably shouldn't be) that there are so many business minded people in this thread.
Also, I know this is late but I pronounce LOCI as L. O. C. I. Each letter individually. hth

Thx Specs for the pronunciation guide.
TBH I wouldn't be really surprised if most people going to HLS are aiming for business/corporate law. I think it is one major advantage of HLS over Y or S, right? You have HBS next door.

Yes, though mostly over Y (as their business school is not that impressive and rather niche). SBS is peer with HBS.

Yeah, you are right. I totally overlooked that. I just have a thing for the East Coast.

I did - was a little disappointed he didn't show up to the faculty lunch on Monday of ASW though...

Le sigh.
I just want to mention that my girlfriend, who was at ASW, called him "the spicy professor" at least 10 times.

I have business law interests and I got Professor Subramanian's book but I know there's another corporate law book going out. He wasn't at the ASW, but I got an e-mail from him and talked to him on the phone because I'm considering the JD/MBA program.

Mine considers him a legitimate threat to our relationship. If only.

I got tushnet's book but I get feldman as my professor to call and tell me why harvard!
Not sure if it's cause of similar background, similar academic interest, or actually name-dropping him in my personal statement in a final-paragraph "why harvard" conclusion. Well, I'm pretty sure it's the last, actually. I made that one easy for the admissions folk.

But no one loves Noah Feldman more than Noah Feldman does

Subramanian is great though; I've heard great things about him from friends who took his class. I unfortunately was never able to. I'm sad that Ashish Nanda is no longer teaching a class at HLS (he left to go become the Dean/Director of Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad -- best B school there apparently) because his class was probably the best class I took at HLS (if not in delivery, certainly in how it's changed my outlook on my professional career).

Welp, I am a total idiot and an asshole. Accidentally just started a convo about applying for financial aid in the applicants thread.
